Avalon Torque series review

Howdy all, in the past week I have smoked 3 of these really fine sticks,2 toro and 1 corona sized. These are a new release for Avalon.a small enterprise based in Clarksdale,Ms.I really panned their original pecan smoked blend from about 3 years ago but since that time they have improved their line tremendously.Their latest offering is the Torque series,just introduced at the New Orleans trade show.I can honestly say this is one of the best cigars I have smoked in the last year. This cigar has a dark, oily,finely veined wrapper.It is heavy for its size with no soft spots.Burn and draw damn near spot on.Required one minor touch up.Flavor is very interesting, is full bodied but very smooth.Pepper and leather followed with an almost balsa wood subtlety with just a faint sweetness on the finish.Smoked them until my fingers burned.I am unclear as to the exact tobaccos in the blend,but I know without a doubt it is Nicaraguan to a large degree.I know one of the owners and smoked a pre production test blend about a year ago and he indicated they were moving their production to Nicaragua from Miami. If you get get the opportunity to try these...do it.If you like the Nicaraguan flavor profile I dont think you will be disappointed.They arent cheap, about $9 a stick in my local Ms brick and mortar.I recommend them without reservation.FrankB

Thanks for the review. Some yime back one of the reps for Avalon was going to send me one to try. I never got it and have not seen them at any of the local b&ms around here so you review was interesting.
