K.A. Kendall's 7-20-4 Review

A little history....

The latest resurrection of a dead brand just came to life from a New Hampshire cigar shop owner, Kurt Kendall; a new version of the R.G. Sullivan 7-20-4 line.

What was R.G. Sullivan? It was the largest maker of 10-cent cigars in America, reportedly producing more than 54 million cigars a year in the early years of the 20th Century from its seven-story factory and warehouse at 175 Canal Street in Manchester. 350 rollers were making the famed 7-20-4 in 1910 and the brand prospered from its introduction in 1875 until finally closing up shop in 1963; millions upon millions of the cigars were made.

Twins Smoke Shop in Hooksett and Londonderry located in New Hampshire has brought back the 7-20-4 cigar, made by the K. A. Kendall Company. The cigar was named for the Manchester street address of the company.

It offers a very unique blend from 5 countries.

Not a lot of information out there about this cigar.

Wrapper: Brazilian Mata Fina
Binder: Colombian
Filler: 3 different fillers - Not sure what though.
Shape: Corona with pig tail
Size: 5.625 X 46
Draw: Perfect
Burn: A few touch-ups due to the oily wrapper, and a little flaky ash the first 1/3, but overall it was good.
Construction: Excellent (Extremely oily / silky wrapper)

This cigar is very smooth, yet very rich and complex.

The first 1/3 is medium-bodied with some richness and spiciness to it.

The last 2/3 of this cigar is VERY peppery and spicy!

I must say, this cigar surprised the heck out of me, and I plan gettin' more!
