Looking for a Medium Creamy Smoke..

Just wondering if anyone can help me find a Cigar with a Medium Body (can be a bit more on the mild or on the Full side), creamy with hints of coffee, cocoa, maybe a bit woodsy with cream type of cigar. Not one that is very spicy! I'm looking for more of a late morning smoke.

I have been looking for this type of cigar for a long time, and I have come close, but not close enough, so I'm just trying to get some other ideas from you guys of ones that might be good to try out.. Thanks!

Re: Looking for a Medium Creamy Smoke..

what have you tried and how did it compare to what you were looking for?

as far as what you described, the best I've had that matches that description is the Padron 1926...delicious

I'd suggest a Macanudo Maduro.

Re: Looking for a Medium Creamy Smoke..

If you are looking for something that is a Medium Bodied Morning Smoke I would give the Butera Royal Vintage line a shot. I have always felt this had a nutty & creamy profile. Might be what you are looking for.

Re: Looking for a Medium Creamy Smoke..

K. Hansotia Symphony, Punch Grand Cru, Montecristo Classic, Romeo y Julieta Vintage, CAO Gold, Santa Damiana... if you're looking for a smooth mid-day kinda thing. "Woody" makes me think Nicaraguan, which means Padron, which is going to be on the heavier side.

Cheaper choices might include IT Cameroon Legend or Torano 1916...maybe??

Good luck!

CAO Gold is a definite choice if you are looking for something nutty. Great suggestion!

I agree with wshell... some ideas as to what you've tried that come close to this profile would help.

If you like slightly flavored (coffee) look for a Java by DrewEstate/Rocky Patel.

Re: Looking for a Medium Creamy Smoke..

All of the suggestions so far I agree fit the bill except Macanudo Maduro. Not only is the flavor profile wrong but it is the worst maduro I have ever had. The robust Macs are pretty good but I don't know anyone who prefers the mads.

The Casa Torano or the CAO Gold are the two you are asking about. Medium strength, creamy with notes of coffee and cocoa. Another one I know you would like is Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Toro Maduro. Don't get any other vitola - the Toro baby! And don't let the "Super Fuerte" and/or "Maduro" dissuade you. This is a perfect morning smoke! Strong hint of cocoa and coffee - creamy and delicious.

You know.. I find I actually prefer Maduro. Most the ones I have had, had almost sweetness to them that have made the flavors of the cigar come out a bit more.

The Padron 1926, I did think was very tasty. Actually, that cigar got me into the Padron 1964 Anniversary Exclusivo (M), which I find to be my favorite so far. Though not so much what I'm looking for in this case, it is an incredible smoke IMHO.

I have yet to try the Casa Torano, and I will be going out tomorrow to pick one up if they have it. Also I have heard the CAO golds are more of what I'm looking for. I am afraid I have a thought of the way a cigar should taste at times, and I will never satisfy my hunger for this... lol.. If that makes since..

I felt the same way with wine for a long time. And then I finally came across a bottle of Cakebread, and it solved my thirst for what I was looking for. One of those things I just can't quite put into words, but I have a feeling its out there, so I keep trying. =)

You guys are great. Thanks for the recommendations.. I'll try em out.

+1

Ah yeah. I was going to recommend this but I didn't know if it was considered medium. I figured it was considered strong but that I had some wierd tolerance or something to strength.

I found this cigar to be a GREAT stick- I love the box press and the draw was perfect. There was a great sweetness to the flavour profile- I need to get more of these..

Re: Looking for a Medium Creamy Smoke..

In my opinion the cigar that embodies everything you described is the Arturo Fuente Don Carlos #2, Period.
