Dona Flor over-aged mild cigar
Just another data point to add to the camp of "mild cigars don't benefit from too much aging."
I bot a box of Dona Flor robustos about a year ago in Brazil. And I LOVED them over the next few months. I just found that I had a couple down at the bottom of my humi, so I pulled one out and smoked it last night. No doubt that my storage of it hasn't been perfectly ideal, but the cigar seems to have lost a little of that wonderful flavor it had a year ago. Just my .02 and ymmv. ![]() |

Re: Dona Flor over-aged mild cigar
Hi Carsten,
Yes! Good point. Better to smoke them all sooner than later! Luckily I got that fresh 5pack from Portugal, so I won't be without some Dona Flors! |

Re: Dona Flor over-aged mild cigar
smoked one of these friday night, still a smooth mild taste - until I hit the last half/last third of it, when it turned bitter and almost unsmokeable .. hope my last four won't turn out as bad as this
they've been in my humidor for like 6 months or so ..

Re: Dona Flor over-aged mild cigar
I revisited the "Dona" -yesterday and I still find it sumwhat dissapoiting. A good Brazilian Puro to try is the Tradicao By East End Cigar Co. It has a great Brazilian Maduro Taste.

I gotta agree totally, Stink! I had a slightly plumed Hoyo de Monterrey that a fellow puffer and I concluded tasted like bland donkey-balls. LOL!
