Once In A Lifetime Review

Yes that's how bad the cigar was! Ever have a friend buy you a cigar that knows nothing about cigars, just out of the kindness of your heart and at some point curiosity gets the best of you so you give it a whirl? That's what this was. At my going away party a friend gave me a cigar he got from Hawaii and this the review (at least as far as I got).

Cigar Info:
Brand: Volcano Cigars
Name: Vanilla Mac Nut Flavor
Size: N/A

Cigar Apperence:
Wrapper Color: Light/medium brown
Cap Construction: Poor tripple cap
Pressence of Veins: Many small-medium
PreLight Draw: Tight
Oily Pressence: Dry
Deffects: Foot looks smashed
Prelight Flavor: Nut

First Third:
Apperence: 3
Construction: 3
Burn Quality: 10
Taste: 1
Total (1-50): 23/50
Flavors: Slight tobacco, sweet, vanilla
Notes: Put out after first third, left a horrile tast on tounge, lips and back of teeth, smell is lingering, giving me a sore throat and head ache, never purchase!!!

I thought the novelty of a cigar from Hawaii would out way the nasty, but nope! Heres a few pics for proof:

Re: Once In A Lifetime Review

Lol,,,way to take one for the team. I remember seeing these when the wife and I vacation in Maui and the other islands. I know when friends try to give me a cigar ( friends who don't smoke cigars, that is ) they don't really think there is a difference in cigars. They see these all dressed up in a tube of glass with all of that advertising on it and think,,,WOW, that will make a great gift to (________ insert your name here) and they will love it. Soooo, you accept the gift because you know they will want to know if you smoked it and you do,,,,and then you roll your eyes back in your head thinking that you just might possibly barf if you smoke anymore of it. The trick is to light it,,,keep it lit and never smoke it,,,that way when they ask if you enjoyed the cigar you can always say that you lit it up and burned it all the way down. Just hope they don't or didn't buy you a box of them!!!

Re: Once In A Lifetime Review

When I was in Iraq I had a good friend give me one of those. I couldnt remember the name for the life of me but that tube/wrapper has been burned into my memory permanantly. I was a small forward base and he had flown our with some mission essential parts and a few cigars that he had been sent. Well after the work was done he pulled out 2 and said that this was the greatest cigar in the world and I had to try. If it wasn't such a kind gesture I would have told him no thanks. Anywho It was the sickiest sweet bitter cigar that I have ever smoked, nothing that I could say good about it.

Re: Once In A Lifetime Review

Count yourself lucky. At least you puffers have friends that gift you cigars. My personal friends always have something negative to say when I light up. Actually gives me an idea for a new thread.

Re: Once In A Lifetime Review

Is it just the way the light hits the tube or was it in cello and then put in the tube?
