La Gloria Cubana (D.R.)

Size: 5 x 50

Construction was good except for one pin hole in the wrapper.

Draw is excellent and it makes LOTS of smoke.
It burns very quickly, this is a 30 minute cigar.

It starts mild and turns slightly spicy. There is a hint of floral and citrus but I thought it was faint. Toward the end it got bitter and I really don't like that in a cigar at all.

I give it a 6.5 out of 10.

Give this one another shot. The LGC Wavelle is generally a very nice cigar.

I look forward to trying the new Series R. Looks delicious.

I know a lot of people really like these, maybe you just had a bad one? I'd say give it another try, as they said let some rest.

Hi Aaron,

30 minutes for a La Gloria Wavell? Did you exhale? Riding in a convertible?

Sounds like you were smoking it very fast. I've had these sticks last 80-90 minutes. The fast smoke may have caused the bitterness.

Regards,

Pete

yeah, I hear ya. I'm gonna let these rest a little while and try again. I normally smoke a little too slow but I will give it another shot.

Re: La Gloria Cubana (D.R.)

Hi Aaron,

Through the 1990s La Gloria was my main smoke. Then the Miami made were better but the DR were very good.

In my experience they can be diffiult burns and a bit inconsistent but I feel that a fair La Gloria is better than most smokes.

They're certainly worth a second attempt.

Good smoking,

Pete
