Oliva Serie V Double Robusto

I picked this up last week at my local B&M for $6, it was the last one they had and have been waiting to smoke it.

So last night I went outside and grabbed a Killian Irish Red, and took it out of its wrapper, and it just looked marvelous. The construction is just amazing.

I lit it up, and at first I got a lot of pepper and spice, but it tasted so good. I got lots of smoke, and draw was so easy. The ash was there for a while at least 2 inches I think not sure.

The best part IMO was when I got to the second third of it, I got some nice dark chocolate with coffee, and some types of nuts, and it got somewhat creamy and just so smooth, I felt like I was in heaven. By this time the spice went away.

I did have to relight it once but it might be becuase it was very windy outside last night, starting to get cold now at nights where I am.

This is the first cigar I actaully felt the nicotine, now I have smoked the Lancero in this series as well, and I am still not sure which one I like better, they are both great. I think I like the feel of the Robusto in my hands, it feels like a real cigar, while the Lancero feels like an extra long thick cigarrette, this is coming from an ex-smoker.

What I will say this I think Oliva Serie V is becoming my favorite cigar, though I would like to try their other lines one day and also try the Toro and other sizes in the Serie V since I see other great reviews about them.

It doesn't matter what size you smoke, the V is just a great cigar.

Good write up of this smoke!

I've had several Olivas, Gs, Os and Vs and I like them all, but, like you said the V is at the top of my list.

The serie V is probably my favorite of that line, I like the O as well. I've been fortunate in that I've never had a bad one

Man, this stick seems to be pretty consistent in how it tastes and smokes. That is really nice to see in an era of terrible quality control and quality assurance.

All I know is a box of double toros shall one day be mine!

I just ordered a 5pack of these before I came upon this review, now I'm glad I did! Can't wait to try this smoke after it arrives!

Re: Oliva Serie V Double Robusto

Has anyone ever heard anything bad on the series V? Seriously haha. Great cigar all around.

I prefer the Belicoso. Love the torpedo shape but usually Torpedoes are too big for me, I prefer 1 hour or under smokes. The 5x52 size of the Belicoso is perfect. I'd love to pick up box of these some day.

Thanks for the review.

Re: Oliva Serie V Double Robusto

I love the V too. My mouth is watering as I'm posting this. I'll never forget my first time trying a Serie V it was a Torpedo...1st third: coffee, cocoa, 2nd third: hazelnut, vanilla, last third: mixture of all the flavors...

Even these can have issues...

To me, actually it does. I vastly prefer the torpedo in these.

Yeah, from myself. I had 7/20 wrappers crack out of a box. I wrote to Oliva and they didn't even do me the courtesy of responding. I offered to send them pics of the problem so they could take steps to prevent it. Great cigars, lousy customer attention.

I dont believe in ragging on a company until they have had ample opportunity to respond and act privately. That's the only reason Im comfortable posting this. They did nothing.
