Jerry's mystery cigar
Cigar: Mystery Torpedo from Jerry (veteranvmb)
Year: 2009 Cutter: Xikar Lighter: Ronson Jet-Lite Beverage: Coke Zero Pre-cut: Nice looking torpedo. Wrapper is a dark brown color with only a couple of small veins. Cigar feels light in the hand but firm. Pre-light draw has a sweet taste to it but doesn't leave a sweet taste on the lips. ![]() 1st third: The cigar lit easily. The flavor is straight tobacco with not much else. The smoke is a liitle harsh but not unbearable. There is a hint of the sweetness on the finish and the finish is of medium length. The smoke is a bit harsh on the nose exhale. The cigar seems to be medium bodied and medium strength. ![]() 2nd third: The harshness has settled down a bit and the sweet flavor is starting to come through. The body is still medium but the strength seems to have dropped off a bit. The cigar has smoothed out a bit on the nose exhale and the finish is still a medium length with the sweetness on the palate. ![]() Final third: The harshness has returned and several purges do not seem to be helping. The draw has gotten very loose and the cigar is smoking hot which is giving me a charred taste. The sweetness has disappeared and been replaced with the taste of hot tobacco. I push through until the end since this stick was gifted to me to review. ![]() Obligatory Ronson pic! ![]() Overall this cigar is a one dimensional tobacco flavor with a hint of sweetness on the finish. The smoke got hot toward the end and was hard to smoke. The middle section was the best that the cigar offered. I would smoke this cigar as a yard gar at a price point of $1.00 - $1.50 but I would not seek them out. I will let the other one rest for a few months and see if it smooths out any. When I smoke it I will put my thought here in this thread. Thank you for the chance to try something new Jerry.

Re: Jerry's mystery cigar
Thanks Donnie
I am indebted to you for taking the time to humidor it, and smokeing it and giving me your opinion. Ive never smoked a cigar ever, that confused me as much as this one. And from reading the reviews so far, there are some vast difference of opinions. I think this cigar is a "two faced" cigar. ![]() Much regards Jerry |

Re: Jerry's mystery cigar
Tis true what you say Jerry. Not everyone's tastes are exactly the same. I will be anxious to see what Donnies thoughts are when he smokes the second one. I planned to smoke mine this weekend but might let it rest another month as well as I have noticed that the " Red Man" smell is not as strong as it was which might account for a more mellow taste if it is left to sit awhile longer. I still like the cigar. Not many would send out all of the cigars that you did for others to review,,,that was a nice thing for you to do.
