La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero 700 review
All I gotta say is that I officially LOVE LIGERO, possibly my favorite tobacco priming/plant just based on flavor alone. My camera ran out of batteries so, no pictures!
![]() Brand: La Flor Dominicana Line: Double Ligero Size: 6 1/2' X 60 Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sun Grown in Dominican Republic Filler: Dominican Ligero Binder: Dominican Ligero Drink: Fort Collins Brewery: Major Tom's Pomegranate Wheat Ale Location: Front Porch and a comfy chair in the cool night air Pre-light: Upon examining this cigar I was awestruck by the beautiful dark brown wrapper and all the natural oils that made this cigar SHINE. In fact, it was almost as shiny as the cigar band which absolutely AMAZED me. Construction of this cigar is absolutely FLAWLESS, and it was very firm to the pinch test. Upon smelling the wrapper I was greeted with ceder and pepper, which continued to the foot where I could also smell cocoa or mocha(it was a chocolaty smell). Upon clipping the cap, which clipped very easily with my double guillotine cutter, I was delighted to find a very nice draw with good resistence and tons of flavor. The pre-light flavors were very dry, with lot's of pepper and wood as well as wonderful tobacco flavor. 1st Third: BOOOOOOOOM! PEPPER NUKE! As I toasted the foot with my matches I was delighted to find a large amount of pepper, spiciness, and wood as well as that WONDERFUL ligero flavor. After a few puffs the pepper died down a little but not by much. Throughout the first third, there was tons of pepper, wood, leather, and ligero tobacco flavor with a bit of espresso or cream/coffee like flavors. I also almost instantly felt the kick of that ligero, plenty of Vitamin N in this stick! Scratch that, this stick is PLANET N and is the holy grail for nicotine lovers. The draw let out COPIOUS amounts of delicious thick white smoke that was wonderful. 2nd Third: The transition was very leathery and peppery, that died down into a smooth coffee finish with that wonderful ligero flavor in full force. In fact, the entire 2nd third is dominated by traditional full bodied flavor! Flavors of leather, coffee, ligero tobacco, and pepper dominated the palate like Alexander the Great as he conquered the known world. There was a crap ton of wood through the retrohale, which was not prevelent in the 1st third. The most interesting part about the wood flavor is that it was a multitude of different types. I could definitely taste the ceder, but the other were unidentifiable to me. I should also mention that this part of the cigar is very mellow and smooth while retaining its potency as a full bodied nicotine stick. Final Third: Woo! Planet N! The final frontier! The cigar really mellowed out here, but as stated previously retained its full bodied nature. In the final third leather, pepper, and wood with an espresso/coffee-like finish dominated until I nubbed the cigar. I almost burnt my fingers smoking this thing! Conclusion: This was an absolutely amazing smoke, tons of smooth full bodied flavor and plenty of Vitamin N. The draw and constrution was fantastic, the cigar IMO is a work of art in its own right, also the burn was pretty consistent despite being a Ligero cigar and I only had to touch it up once in the first third. I am definitely going to buy more of these, probably a box or half a box this is one of those smokes that just stands head and shoulders above the competition and is right up there with the Oliva Series V Double Toro in qaulity and flavor. Absolutely ADORED this stick, thus it receives an unprecedented 94/100 despite very minor burn issues. If this stick is any indication of Litto Gomez's talent as tocedor then I think I shall be very pleased with anything he has to offer. I WILL be picking more of these up and I've already found several online sites to buy a box from...when I have the money. ![]()

Re: La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero 700 review
I wouldn't know as I've only had the natural so far, but I've heard plenty of good things about the maduro as well.
