Review - Puros Indios Piramide #2

/*================================================= =================*/
/*========================== CIGAR_REVIEW ==========================*/
/*================================================= =================*/
DATE: 2006/05/24
REVIEWER: Timothy "Texan_To_The_End" Piper
CIGAR: Puros Indios Piramide #2
SIZE: 6.50 X 46
ORIGIN: Honrudan
WRAPPER: Ecuadoran
BINDER: Ecuadoran
FILLER: Dom, Nic, Brazilian
SHAPE: Pyramid
AGE: In my humidor since 2006/05/09
VENDOR: ChrisB (from ASC monthly swap) Thanks again!
AMBIENCE: A rather hot afternoon around 4PM. Sunny but pleasant
in the shade. Low humidity.
BEVERAGE: None
APPEARANCE: Smooth dark wrapper with veins showing. This is a
rather large cigar. One soft spot near the foot.
PRE_LIGHT: A nice woody taste, and a good smell.
DRAW: Very easy draw.
FIRST_THIRD: From the light through the first two inched this tasted
exactly like a Roly. But then a slight peppery flavor
started to creep into the mix.
SECOND_THIRD: The pepper and woody flavors blended and turned into a
pretty good experience. Had to re-clip the end as it
got a little soggy.
FINAL_THIRD: The pepper/spice flavor dominated here, not with that
overpowering taste, but definitely ruled the rest of
the smoke. The soft spot got quite a bit softer; almost
like it was stored at a too-high RH.
BURN: Straight as can be on a cigar this size.
ASH: Dark grey solid ash with a yellow center.
SMOKE: A bit sparce, but nice and spicy smoke.
STRENGTH: Medium, got stronger at the nub.
FLAVOUR: Woody, spicy with pepper at the end.
FINISH: The peppery taste lingered for a bit, but I had a cup
of coffee which took the taste away.
SMOKE_TIME: 55 minutes
IMPRESSION: I can definitely see why the Roly's are a "second" of
the Puros Indios brand. This was good, but if I were
to have a box I'd have to let them age for six months,
as the general taste was a bit young.
RATING: 6 out of a possible TEN wooden matchsticks.
COMMENTS: I really have to compare this to the Roly's, which I
have a lot of, and got for $14 per bundle from a local
B&M. This tasted better but not by a large margin.

Good review Tim. Also prefer the Rolys. Paul
