My first review, so be gentle...

Cigar: Oliva Series O Torpedo

Size: 6.5x52

Smoke time: 1 hr, 15 mins or so

Appearance: The appearance of the cigar was beautiful and I smoked it right off the rack at the B&M. The wrapper was just dark enough to look flavorful, but not as dark as a maduro. It was veiny and a little bumpy, which I like.

Construction: The pre-light draw was pretty tight after I had cut off about 1/4", so I cut another 1/4" and it was fine after that. I like a little easier draw still, but it was ok. I had to correct it right off and several more times during the smoke, so I wasn't real impressed by the construction.

Taste: I'm not really good enough to be able to taste different flavors just yet. It lit well, and the first third was smooth but full of flavor (just not sure which ones). The flavor built throughout the smoke, but it never got too bold nor too peppery.

Verdict: I paid too much for this cigar...over $5, and I wouldn't buy it at that price again. The only thing I was disappointed with was the construction, so I'd like to get a fiver and try some more. I never want to count a good smoke just because it needs correcting.

Cbid delivered right on time as usual. Had to try one of these Oliva Serie O Robusto maddies ROTT. It was ready to go, but tastes like it should improve with some age also. Easy draw. Full body. Starts off pepper, then a nice chocolate flavor enters for the first half. Second half a bit boring. Age will help. Worth $3, which is what I paid on Jambalya cbid. At this point, I guess I would have to say I liked the G just a smidge better. But both are good at $3 price point.
