Quick Aston Cabinet Series Review
Hey guys, I just had my first Ashton Cabinet Series. Here goes:
Cigar: Ashton Cabinet Series Shape: Ummmm... Perfecto? The same shape as the Oliva V Special Figurado Age: at least 3 months in my humi, probably more than that from the B&M Pre-light: Cap cut flawlessly, there were a bunch of green water-marks on the stick, hadn't realized that when I bought it. Did not affect the performance. First Third: Toasted the nipple with my MAP torch, lit up well. As opposed to numerous other cigars I've had with this particular vitola (is that the proper usage of this word?) this one did not develop any burn issues at the (areola? area around the nipple LOL). Flavor was very bland. A little earthy, but not much until the first 1.5 inch mark. Second Third: The flavor was dominantly leathery, with a subtly sweet finish. I think this stick would do better with some dry-box time on it. It did taste a LITTLE bit too wet. That's probably because I just recharged my beads yesterday. My digi read 65, which is really closer to 68-69. Towards the middle the stick picked up a warm, rich-topsoil earthy flavor. Final Third: A blast of flavor. I was picking up a spiciness that I had really been hoping for. The flavor was reminiscent of spiced rum mixed with a toasted graham cracker. It was truly a great flavor. However, it only lasted for a few minutes until it got harsh on me. Overall, this cigar was a very mild smoke for me. Honestly, for the price that I paid for it (close to 17 bucks I think... B&M noob...), I know now that there's much better out there. It was far from a full-bodied cigar, but was a nice change of pace for me. If I were to smoke another one of these, I'd definitely dry-box it to try to bring some more intensity out of it. The burn was RAZOR sharp, never needing correcting, never tunneling nor coning. I rate this cigar as an "eh" lol. The blend kinda reminded me of a castrated Fuente 8-5-8. I'd recommend this smoke to a newer-newbie than I as something to get a leather taste from, but then again, I'd probably tell them to grab a Partagas Black for that. Thanks for reading! Isaac |

Re: Quick Aston Cabinet Series Review
I feel the same way about these, just don't taste like much to me at all. Definately not worth the price.
