My review of Monte Classic half corono
I had gotten used to buying at aution the variety boxes of altadis half coronos. I get a selection of r and j, uppman, monte, etc.
Over the last few months I realize in my opinion the quality of the r and j, and uppmans have gone way down in quality. But the one I pick out of the bunch everytime is the monte cristo classic in half corona. This small cigar never disappoints. For a two and a half dollar cigar at full catalogue price(better price at auction) this is one very good cigar. I will only be buying this particular brand in this size for now on. I will buy boxes of these instead of the varieties, after I finish smoking or bombing the others away. As always, a beautiful crafted cigar. A superb wrapper. Toasts up nice, and has never ever needed a relit, touchup, or shown any concern, as it always burns evenly. Even if you forget it for a little while, you go to take a puff, and it almost seems like the cigar knew you were busy, put its pilot lights down, and as soon as you puff it, it goes back to 100 percent. Great volumes of smoke. Almost 25-30 minutes of it. A great cedar flavor, with hints of pepper. Perfect draw as their can be. As you smoke it the spice or pepper intensity stays the same, with added cedar, mint, and liquorice as your progress down the shaft. I didnt take apart as usual, because it was too enjoyable. This is listed as a mild to medium, but I would say its mild in nicotene, but definatley a medium flavored cigar. Also, this is just about the only cigar I smoke, that when I am outside, can actually smell the aroma of the cigar . It has a great smell, sort of like a steak bbq from a distance, or that great smell of burned leaves from someones yard(if they were allowed to burn anymore, lol) So while not a top shelf , complicated burn and taste, definately constructed as good as any cigar made, and the complexity is strong enough to keep me occupied for the half hour, and take notice of every puff. For a half corona sized cigar I give it a 9 out of 10. Much regards Jerry |

Re: My review of Monte Classic half corono
Good Review. It really does burn nice and evenly and I never needed to relight at all. Unfortunately its a little too mild for my taste.
