Te-Amo World Selection Series Cigars Cuba Blend - Gran Corto

I picked up a handful of these from the local B&M ($3.85 for a single) and fired one up today while walking the dog. Have to admit, didn't know what to expect, but it was pretty good. It was a bit tough to find any info about them online, but here's what I found.

Te-Amo World Series Selection Cuba Blend - Gran Corto 4x62
Wrapper: Criollo '98
Binder: San Andres
Filler: Criollo '98

They claim the wrapper and filler are vintage. Don't give an age though. While burning pretty sharp, the filler was snow white. I've seen off white and light gray, but never snow white. It really caught me off guard. Flavor wise, it started a bit rough, but after the first few puffs it really changed into a nice cigar. It reminded me of the few CCs I've had when traveling abroad. Nothing spectacular here, but still a pretty decent cigar. Flavor stayed consistent until the last inch and then really picked up to finish nicely. Ended up nubbing it. Not sure what some age will do to it, but I'm going to find out. Anyone else ever had one?

Are the wrapper and filler not Criollo from '98?. Glad to hear you had a good experience with the smoke. The short torp format is a good one for me when it's colder outside.

They probably are. I just got different descriptions (mainly Criollo vs. Criollo '9 from different sites. I went with the one that looked like the best description, but I'm not sure.

I saw this as well, looks interesting. Never been a huge fan of te amo but I do have a few of their smokes in a different size

Ohh that looks like a nice short smoke when it's 20 outside.

I'll have to try one of those.

You'll soon learn, Brian - nobody does things small here.

I'm glad to hear you liked this, Eric. I'm a fan of the World Selection series (for the most part...don't really care for the Nicaraguan blend), and I've been wanting to try this one, but my local B&M closed down before they came out with the cuban.

Very cool. Looking forward to your review too, Brian; welcome to the pond!

Finally smoked it. Really liked it. I gotta say though it burned quicker than a nub, but nevertheless it was a very good smoke.
