Arturo Fuente Curly Head

Size/Shape: Longsdale (6 1/2 x 43)
Origin: D.R.
Strength: Medium
Wrapper: Cameroon
Price Paid: $2.00

I had purchased a couple of these, after hearing that they are a solid smoke for the price you are paying, and the majority of the A. Fuentes that I've smoked have been very enjoyable. The cigar comes without a band and comes in a wrapper with A. Fuente written in script on it. Wasn't the best looking cigar I've seen...not by a long shot, but it never came unwrapped. Was very veiny and occasionally would get pieces of tobacco in my mouth while smoking.

Pre-light, had an almost sweet aroma too it. First 1/3, wasn't really anything for tastes, it was pretty plain, but not gross by any means. Never really picked up any amazing tastes throughout the cigar, by about the 2/3 mark, it picked up a little bit of a woody taste, which I enjoyed.

It had no problems staying lit or burning, kept pretty consistent, which I wasn't really expecting from looking at the construction of the cigar. It produced a good amount of smoke, and wasn't packed too tight or too loosely, which I was impressed about.

Overall, for the price paid this is a very good smoke, and I would choose it over cigars that I have paid 3 times as much as this was. I'm glad I bought another, and will probably buy more because of the price, it is a good cigar to have when you are doing something else.

6.5/10

Thanks for the well written review. I don't know if I've seen too many of these around. I read about them often, but just not something I have available near me.

I keep several of the Curly Head Deluxe Maduros around. Great smoke for a couple of bucks.

I ordered them on Cigar.com, there isn't much selection for Non-Cubans around here, and the ones that you can find, are like 3 times the price of what you guys are paying.

Nice review, sir! I believe I used to smoke these every once in a while, and never knew what they were! Have you had an 8-5-8?

Yeah I've had one, have one more in the humidor. Awesome smoke, I'd put a review on for them, but it's been a while since I've smoked it.

Re: Arturo Fuente Curly Head

I had one of these a few weeks ago and I was pretty impressed that such an ugly duckling could produce a pretty enjoyable smoke. My only problem is that they run $4 at my local B&M, and if I'm going to spend that much, I may as well go a few $$ more and get something that's higher quality. For the price though, not a bad smoke.
