Alec Bradley Maxx Traditional Review

MFG:
Quote:
Company: Alec Bradley
Line: MAXX Traditional
Vitola: Toro 6 X 50
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Habano
Binder: Costa Rica
Filler: Columbia, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Honduras
Flavor: Full
Strength: Medium

A dark rustic rough looking wrapper on a toro which looks thinner than the 50 ring gauge indicated. The wrapper has a slight oily sheen with a satisfactorily applied cap. Several prominent veings along with a marbelized color exist. The cigar is attractive looking enough. The cap snipped off very easily and nicely. There is no prelight aroma to speak of. The bunching is firm and uniform. Initial flavors are a deep toasted woody flavor. Its not earthy but heavy and smooth.

Draw and smoke volume are acceptable. There is no spice or pepper to speak of with this cigar. Its smooth with a deep toasted wood, loamy flavor. There is a touch of sweet fruitiness on the finish, but its very subtle. Its a smooth mellow cigar. The finish also has a smokey taste to it and it has a bit of a drying effect to it.

The aroma is smokey with a bit of mocha to it. Enjoyable and not offensive.

The Traditional is hard to find as compared to the regular MAXX line which is comprised of larger ring gauges.

The burn is straight and produces a fairly solid medium gray ash. The cigar stayed one dimensional throughout and became a bit boring. Its a smooth mellow smoke, but leaves you wanting more
