RP The Edge Corojo Toro
I was really interested to try this cigar and I have heard a lot of hype, but I have also heard a lot of RP criticism.
Pre-light- This is a really pretty cigar. I mean it has a simple band on the foot, the wrapper was gleaming with oils and it was hefty and felt solid all the way around. Could not really detect a pre-light aroma other than tobacco. I clipped it and the draw felt perfect to I toasted and lit up.
1st third- The draw and burn are perfect, I mean spot-on. I am not picking up much besides a creaminess and a tiny bit of spice on the finish. The mouth feel is medium bodied.
2nd third- More of the same. Burn and draw are perfect. Solid white greyish white ash. Creaminess still there backed by more spice. Not pepper or anything harsh, but like a baking spice maybe?
Final third- This cigar really got good in the last third. Still creamy, but now there was a floral and citrus aspect that I really enjoyed. Still backed by some strength, this cigar is medium to full bodied.
Overall, I liked this cigar mostly because of the final third. While the draw and burn were great all the way through the flavors were not that great until the last third. This cigar is worth a try in my opinion if you want a solid medium-full smoke.
