Ashton VSG Belicoso

This is my first review of a cigar ever, so bare with me as I try to describe everything. Hope you enjoy!

The past three days have been miserable here, with tons of rain and chilly weather. I was surprised when I woke up today and the sun was shining. I had an Ashton VSG sitting in my humi for a few weeks that was awaiting a day like this.

Armed with my Ronson and brand new Xikar cutter, I took a seat outside just as the sun was starting to set.

This is the second time using my Xikar and man it makes such a difference compared to the peice of crap I was using before. This thing cuts cigars like butter.

About an inch into the cigar, the creamy flavor increased substantially with slight hints of cocoa.

The burn remained pretty even through out the smoke. It got a tad un-even at times, but always fixed itself without any touching up.

The creamy flavor was dominant throughout the cigar, increasing as the cigar burned lower to the nub. I did not notice any pepper at all, which some people have said to have noticed.

This was definitely one of the top 3 cigars I've had. I will definitely purchase a few more when I have the funds. Im excited to see how this stacks up to the Padron 1964 Maduro I have waiting in my humi.

Hope this was semi-informative!

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Ashton VSG Belicoso

I have one sitting in my Humi... but it just arrived yesterday and needs to condition.

This thread DOESN'T help with the wait...

Sounds like my kind of smoke...

I like Ashtons and I like sun grown's... so this should be an incredible smoke.

Nice first review! I love those sun grown wrappers. You can see the light beat off the oil in the humidor.

Cheers,
Brad

I apologize for the sudo-hijacking of your excellent review with my humor attempt, but I couldn't let Robustbrad let that one slip by.
