Padron 80th Play-by-play

Pre-light: fantastic looking cigar, as I have come to expect from Padron. It has a nice medium-brown wrapper & is perfectly constructed. It has a great earthy/cedary aroma pre-light. It clipped easily with my Xikar.

Nice review Jeff They are as good as evertone say huh!

Damn I am mostly a patient man and wait for the best deal, These never go on sale, the 26 none of them. Correct?

I guess I will just bite the bullet, any recommendations on the best source to purchase from?

Re: Padron 80th Play-by-play

Initial notes: I gently toasted the foot with a couple wooden matches, it actually took a while to get this baby going. After one quick purge, I took my first puff............ahhhhhh...very tasty already, getting some great leather & cedar flavor here, it's very smooth & creamy right off the bat.

Wow, so tasty I forgot to open my beer (rare to say the least). Will update again when I finish this episode of King of the Hill, or when my beer is gone, whichever comes first.

Dunno about the "best" source, I get most of my Padrons at my B&M, keep your eyes peeled for deals though. The regular 26 is nothing to sneeze at either.

Re: Padron 80th Play-by-play

Ah ha! There's the spice I was looking for, just enough to keep it interesting. Still has lots of leather & is almost sweet at the same time it's spicy (sounds bad, but it's good). It produces tons of smoke.

About 20 minutes in now. Burning quite well. Also goes great with this Wexford. Getting more spicy as it goes, little hint of vanilla too.

Ok about 45 minutes in, & holy cedar! It came back with a vengeance! Lots of spice now too! Very good cigar, I'm impressed so far, it's even better than I expected. Still going strong & I'm looking forward to the next half!

Oh yeah, I'm half-way through my second beer too!

The ash just fell off after about 2 inches.

I'd say Taboo Cigars with there 25% off deal, or wait until they have another 40% off deal.

Probably b/c 40% off a $30 cigar is a damn good deal lol. I'm sure they'll be in stock shortly.

Re: Padron 80th Play-by-play

An hour + 15 minutes in now, now smooth & creamy again while being a little spicy in the nose. Needed it's first touch-up light. Also time for my third Wexford.

Take that back, now it's really spicy on the nose exhale!

Just about time to remove the bands, I can see this being a finger-burner.......

Re: Padron 80th Play-by-play

Approaching the home stretch now, a little wrapper crack from taking the first band off, I think it'll be ok though. Still a little spicy, but tastes like sweet cream butter as well. I LOVE this cigar! Very smooth and creamy (did I mention that before, LOL?)

The ash is holding on like a champ.

Re: Padron 80th Play-by-play

Alright I'm at the "end" now. It's been a long night & I really should be asleep since I have to work in the morning, but I can't put this sucker down. It's so great to the "bitter end" & I use that term looslely since it's not bitter at all. It's starting to hurt a little the nub is getting so small, just can't will myself to put it down. All in all, it's been a great experience, would love to pick up a couple more of these. As I finish this fine Padron off, I also open my 4th beer, very tasty by the way. I would love to put a few of these down for a while & see what a year or so does for them.

It was indeed a finger burner! Now hopefully the wife doesn't hear me crawling into bed this late!
