My review of a Alec Bradley Tempus

I purchased this about a week or two ago at the local b and m. It is the chruchill sized 48x7 but goes by a different name. I think centuria or something.

It is fairly expensive. I dont know the exact price as I purchsed three different cigars, but I assume I paid around 10 dollars.

This cigar was well packed, but slight soft, the way I like it. It felt heavy and lovely in my hand. The wrapper was a nice presentation and had an oily feel to it.

I had a brand new guillitine cutter, and it cut a nice beautiful slice off. Just perfect.

I put the torch to it to toast, and it took quite a long time to toast. Almost like it didnt want to catch all around, but eventually with a minute of toasting and a few puffs while the flame was touching it took hold.

So I settled down to have this long smoke, and all I got was pepper and burned taste. A few more puffs and the same and then I realized that some of the tobacco must be burned from the hard light.

I gave it a strenuos purge(and dropped an ask on my hoodie, now I have a burn hole. LOL) and when it was purging, I have never seen such copouis(spelling) amounts of white smoke come out. I though someone would call the fire department.

After the purge there was a miraculous change. The smoke became cooler, and tons of cedar, spice and leather. A beautiful aroma filled the air.

This cigar burned for an hour and a half with no touchups or relights.

The flavor stayed basically the same all the way through. A Nice made cigar, however if you look at the value point of this cigar, it was way overpriced.

The construction was an 8 dollar cigar, the smoking part was nothing better then a lot of 3 dollars cigars I have smoked.

If it was a 3-5 dollars smoke on bid, I would give it a 7. But at this price point I paid I give it a 5.

I would try another one from this brand to see what else they have.

Before I typed this sentence I went to web and looked at some reviews, and I see some similar statements on the value part of this smoke.

Thanks all I have to say on this matter.

Much regards Jerry

I love these cigars and they can be had for far less. Been smoking these for the last 7 months and really enjoy them.

Much regards Jerry.

P.S. Now you realize you have just cost me 10 bucks, because I have to go buy another one to test out, since I respect your estimation of this cigar.
Off to Harrys Cigars on Monday.
I want to try a bigger size of the a.f. hemingway anyway, and theres a certain hoya de monterrey I have been dying to try. And I have not had a cohiba yet, so thats four and probably 50 bucks at a ny b and m.

Much regards Jerry

They are a bit pricey, but they are one of my favorites. Sorry you didn't feel you got your moneys worth.

Let a brother hook you up, Jerry. I would never pay $10 for one of these,,,I usually get these all day long for about $3 a stick. AB cigars are pretty good smokes but certainly not for $10,,,,egads, I barely pay that for Opus cigars and will pick up some of those when I get down to Miami again in Dec. from my source that only charges wholesale. That means a Reserve Chataeu for only about $12 per stick and if you buy 10 he gives another 10% discount.

Garys got all kind of connections. Hes the man. I think he waits down at the docks in Georgia, waiting for certain ships to come in, and he pays off the captain or something for his shipments.
He has a very lonely life, day after day at the docks.
In fact, I heard they pay him to take the cigars. I dont know the validity of this or not.

Just because Gary likes showing the ladies his "wooden leg" it doesn't mean he is a pirate!

Re: My review of a Alec Bradley Tempus

I am smoking one of these right now that I got on a CI "Mystery" 5 pack for $20 a month or two ago. I pulled one out of the wrapper and let it sit in the humi for a few weeks to season a bit. The cigar has a beautiful wrapper and on firing up, gives off a tremendous amount of spice but settles down into a really nice flavorful smoke. If I could compare it to something it would be to a RP Vintage 1990, but with quite a bit more strength. I would say grab more on sale but not the best QPR for MSRP.

Re: My review of a Alec Bradley Tempus

These in the shorter size are my favorite smoke. I bought a bunch of these, and ended up paying about $4 a stick. These have a flavor profile I really enjoy...just enough spice to keep me interested but not overpower me (ala anything by the Don Pepin)

Re: My review of a Alec Bradley Tempus

This cigar is wildly popular right now. I've only smoked one and didn't quite see what the fuss was about. It has a great band! Thats what I thought. I'll have to try another one to have a fair opinion. Thanks for the review.
