Carlos Torano Exodus 1959 50 Year

This is a brand new stick from Carlos Torano.

I picked a box of these up at an event today with Carlos and master roller, Felipe Sosa.

My particular stick was a Short Churchill 6x48 that just came from the store today, so it spent all of 3 hours in the humidor

I was explained that this stick is comprised of the traditional Exodus 1959 long filler from Nicaragua, with a Brazilian sun-grown wrapper. It was very dark and had a light, sweet smell... almost maduro-like.

The flavor abounded with chocolate, a little cinnamon, creamy, maybe a touch of caramel... In fact, you could TASTE the sugar on the draw... it's that sweet.

It was VERY easy on the palate... no lingering tastes... no bitterness.

I felt that the construction was superb, but in all honesty the draw was fairly tight for the first 1/2 of the stick, and opened as I progressed. The amount of smoke produced was also pretty light for the first half, but then practically tripled for the second half.

It burned straight and true, and required no touch-ups. Ash was a nice light gray/white, but could only hold an inch or so.

In my opionion, this is a medium-full body cigar and suitable for AFTER dinner... as dessert.

Would I smoke this again... Hell Yeah!

Why not check out TampaHumidor on the www
or Don Francisco on Rt. 18 for a B&M

Good hunting,
Julian

Sugary? Sounds odd and interesting at the same time for this cigar. I got to give this another try.

Yes, much sweeter compared to the Exodus 1959 Gold, which I am just finishing now.
