Famous 3000 Review

Im sure this has been said and done but anyway.....

I got a few torp's last order from Famous. Given all of them away except for one. I was going to bomb it (uh oh, somebody look out) but decided to try and see what the fuss was all about. Holy He!! that was good.

draw was tight right fromt the start. Would compare to a thick milkshake with a little straw. A little poke and it was good again.

Very smooth almost woody/nutty taste. Never harsh. I loved it. Burn was even taste was excelent....that is all I can say. Great smoke.

Too bad I couldnt find them on their website now.

Re: Famous 3000

I haven't had any with a firm draw, but other than that I agree with your review. They are GREAT for the price. Most everybody (but not Lance ) that has posted likes them. That is the problem now...They are running out of them and supposedly they will not have any more of them in the future. Buy 'em while you can!

Re: Famous 3000

I like an almost effortless draw. It wasnt bad just was a little tight. In no way affected the smoke. Just needed a little poke.

Thumbs up Re: Famous 3000

They are a great smoke no doubt, even better if you let them rest a bit.

I was able to find them on the Famous website?

I ordered a few things over there and left a message concerning the uncertainty of the Fam 3K. Gary or Arthur I can't remember, emailed me back and he assured me there will be no problem getting them in the future.. He said there was a question whether the buyer was going to be able to purchase any at all, but that was a while ago.

I can only guess that issue has been solved, the price hasn't gone up. So unless he's blowing smoke, you know where, I think the scare is over..

Great news! Hopefully they don't change anything (blend, factory, etc..)

Re: Famous 3000

From what I heard everything is as it was and will continue to be
I guess we'll find out!

When I heard the rumor I loaded up, I still have 6 bundles unopened and working on 2 opened..
You know the comment section on the order page thats where I asked the question. The next time you order something tell him you hear a rumor, and ask them.

Matt,
I didn't ask. I was more concerned with the Torpedos.. I thought the whole line would be available in all honesty. They have the grand robusto 6 x 60 which is a good smoke also, a bit to large RG for my liking..
That is all for now..

Re: Famous 3000

I ordered a bundel a couple of months ago and smoked a few right off the bat. I didn't think they were to good, harsh, bitter with bad taste. I tride another one today and what a difference a little time can make, this one was much better than the first one, smooth with no harshness and the taste improved so much I couldn't believe I was smoking the same cigar. I can just imagine how good they will be after six months to a year in the humidor.

It has come to my attention I received misleading information concerning the 3K's. I received there catalog on Sat, in it they listed the whole Famous 3K line as low in stock.
I placed an order yesterday and left a message in hopes of clearing this up for myself. I received a response that was good and bad. I was told stocks are in deed low, however, a new shipment will be arriving along with a small increase in price. The sender of this email, with out going into specifics, would have first hand knowledge.

On a personal note, I apologize for posting information I thought was valid. The person it came from, I believed, should've known, but unfortunately did not. I do not feel this was intentional in any way.
Stock up on the old 3K's if they're your preferred smoke, that way the new versions will have time to rest.
Again, I'm sorry for misleading anyone concerning the above sticks.
Humbly submitted,
Frank

Re: Famous 3000

Resting time is a given for value cigars IMO; hell there are some boxed cigars that need it too (Rocky Patel, Partagas Black Label, etc...). What you gave us was good news that this cigar would be available in the future, and I appreciate it. No need to apologize Frank!

As long as the new supply has the same blend and same construction quality, Famous will have one of the best, if not THE best house brand cigar on the market.
