Hi,

Just smoked one last night.
It was nice, but not really Fuente.

I'll try one later for a second try.

Very good review. I had one of the sungrowns a while ago, and liked it very much, the flavor profile was smooth and with plenty of body.
Thanks

What a nice cigar, presently smoking it!!! Got to love it....Gets better with every puff and smooth a silk. Nice tasty wrapper. Excellent cigar for the price! Not to mention I am a Hoyo De Nicaragua fan and a Hoyo De Monterrey Sumatra fan. This is one great cigar!!

But, what do I know? I am still just a little chimp!! As stated before "buttery"!

Nice review.

I went through a sungrown phase a few months ago, tried just about everything I could find. The AF Chateau sungrown was my absolute favorite. Still have a couple in my humidor. And, they are a good value for the $$$ too.

One of my favorite cigars! A great little smoke and an amazing value. Now if only I could find Flor Finas with the SG wrapper.

Re: Fuente Chateau Fuente Sun Grown

How hard are these to find? My B+M highly recommended them and they had a full box +6 left. I bought the 6, then later bought half the box to split with another gorilla.

The B+M said they were a not very well known treat and that they don't get them very often. He said about 1 out of every 25 chateau fuente boxes were the Natural Sun Growns.

I had one last night and have to say the review is spot on. It was rather spicey, a little toasty and a little buttery. Slight burn issues, but nothing serious and it almost completely corrected itself. I hadn't had much to eat yesterday, so it might have just been that, but it seemed to pack quite a punch for something as small as it is. definitely a 45 min- 1 hour cigar.

I paid $3.97 after tax.

Re: Fuente Chateau Fuente Sun Grown

almost to the letter.

My burn issues were serious, probably worst I've ever had in a cigar but the taste kept me at it. By the time I was down to nubbin territory I had a serious buzz.

Might add prelight I got a serious tongue tingle from this. Good nicotine buzzers I imagine. Serious candidates for a long rest in the bottom of the humi.

In general, I didn't think that they were that hard to find. My local doesn't always have them in stock, but they do quite often. I picked up a box from them about a month ago for $76 and they had 5 other full boxes, plus the open box selling singles.

You are spot on with the review. I haven't had horrible burn problems, but there have been a couple that have been sub-par. Great smoke though, especially for the price!

Great review! wait till they have a couple months on them, they taste even better!
I bought a 5er one day and I smoked one the next day, I felt the same way you did, then I let the rest sit for about 3months and oh boy was it even better, maybe I just caught it at a good time buy it sure tasted better.

I know this is like 45 min. away from you, but the Tobacco Barn in Seven Corners (Falls Church, VA) had half a box of them for $3.55 plus 12% tax, so roughly $4.

Re: Fuente Chateau Fuente Sun Grown

nice review, ive found my expirence to be almost exactly the same
even down to the burn issues.... (needs a little touch up here and there, but its not enough to detract from the smoking expirence)

I bought a box of these from an online vendor which brings the price down to around $3 a stick.... they are one of my "go-to" afterwork cigars... nice price, lots of flavor, and a short burn time... i like to save the bigger cigars for weekends...

these are pretty easy to find online, i think mine came out to $60something nice box too... its the long flat single-stack type...

Yup, the box I finished off (bought the rest of) was about a 10" by 10" (almost square), single tray.
