Fuente Chateau Fuente Sun Grown Review

This is one of the Fuente Cigars I had never tried until yesterday. I purchased one, along with seven other singles, from one of my favorite online vendors about two weeks ago. A single cost me $3.89, however, by the box they can be had for close to $3 a stick. This beautiful, solid, well made cigar is 4.5" long with a ring gauge of 50. The wrapper is a deep, rich dark brown with a reddish hue. The cap was perfectly applied. After firing this baby up, I was immediately hit with a strong, rich, semi-sweet flavor profile and waves of a peppery spiciness. The semi-sweet and peppery spice profile dominated the first third of this cigar. In the middle, the peppery spiciness became very subtle. The semi-sweet flavor profile mellowed a bit but still dominated. Near the end of the middle, the peppery spiciness pick up a notch or two and nuances of a deep earthiness joined in. The semi-sweetness was still there but even more subtle at that point. This cigar is a finger burner, simply delicious!!! The finish/aftertaste lasted for an hour or more and never turned hard or bitter. This is a great 45 minute to an hour cigar. It smokes very cool, offering loades of creamy smoke. The burn was slightly off, all the way down, but it was not a problem. The overall flavor profile was truly enjoyable. I forced myself to smoke a bit slower than I usually do because this was truly delicious. This stick lasted me about 55 minutes. I will be buying more of these very soon!

Great review. I have yet to smoke a Fuente and I am going to the store to make the chateau fuente sun grown my first. That is an excellent price for such a quality smoke.

Re: Fuente Chateau Fuente Sun Grown

They are a pretty good smoke...although, i favor the maduros slightly more....

Ive had alot of burn issues with them though. I bought a box last year and smoked them over a period of probably 6 months....out of the entire box, i probably had 4-5 that had a perfect burn...the rest needed to be touched up periodically. I thought maybe it was a bad box, but it did it with several singles i had bought too. Thought after that maybe it was a humidity problem and i tried everywhere from 63-70%....still got fairly erratic burns. Too bad too, they are a very tasty, short smoke. The naturals and the maduros have never given me any issues....

Very nice review . For even more of that tasty flavor you might want to try the Double Chateau at 6 3/4 x 50.

Shoot , if you've got a couple hours to kill , try the Royal Salute Sun-Grown . The line is actually my favorite from Fuente - all the SG's .

Thanks for the great review. I just received one of these this week as a gift from the gracious "Miami." I am putting it in the line up of "soon to be ash"

Thanks for the review. I really like a lot all the AF smokes I've tried so these are next on my list.

True, I also like all the AF Sungrowns, but the 858 to me is the best of the lot. Other than that, the Chateau Fuente or the Cuban Beli are the ones I reach for the most often. If I have the time, Double Chateau.

Nice Review.

Nice review. Thanks!

My favorite mid-priced Fuente is the Cuban Belicoso. A great smoke for just under $5. I'd be interested to know how you like it compared to the Chateau S/G.
