Thumbs up Trinidad TTT (DR) Review

I just had one of these; I bought em over 6 months ago. I got em in a sampler; 2 different samplers in fact, belicoso and Toro; Maduro and EMS (sungrown Ecuadorian Sumatran wrappers). The first one I had was way too strong and harsh. The one I just had (toro) with the sungrown wrapper was da shiznitz!
Nice oily smooth wrapper, good even burn, with an easy draw.
Lots of leather in the taste with some spice too, although I don't see how it can be described as fullbodied. This smoke had a very earthy cigar like smell, and was smooth and creamy at points. One of the guys at CI wrote a review and said near the end there was a lump which was harsh; not true from what I just smoked. I nubbed this one and find the finish to be very nice.
This was a very good smoke. They are expensive at around 9 bucks apiece MSRP but, I didn't pay that much.
If you get a chance to pick some of these up, you will not be disappointed.
Enjoy!

I'm smoking a TTT robusto as I write this (and watching deadliest catch, thats a great show), and it is a great smoke. I think the MSRP on these is way too high, there are many better cigars for less. JMO.

The best of them was darn well a $9/smoke to me. It's just hard to know which ones are great and which are flat. They all look the same.

An old fav. Thanks for the review. The ashtray deal was pretty good. Still some floating around in the smaller shops.

Re: Trinidad TTT (DR)

Trini naturals were my favorite high end NC sticks for a long time. I once pulled a robusto Trini from LJ's from a first run box that was covered in plume. I let it age for about 6 months and smoked it............God was it smooth!!!

There are alot of Trinidads around from the first runs that can still be had (Corona sizes are the easiest to find). They are wonderful cigars and the age makes them even more mouth-watering!

Re: Trinidad TTT (DR)

I have a couple laying around from when I first started smoking. I was told that they were a full bodied smoke and not for newbies, so I put it 'em away and forgot about it. Now that I prefer fuller smokes I'll have to get one out and try it.
Thanks for the review and reminder...

Yeah MM, my experience was similar but, the first one I had was within a week of having bought them; I don't think they had enough time on em. But man, what a difference some months makes! This was a very pleasant cigar, not a lot of sweet this, nutty that etc etc. just a plain ole good cigar.
The price is overboard though, and I won't buy em unless I see them for a good price.

I had the flip side of that; smoked one an hour from JR's and the others sat for months. The one out of the box was a monster good smoke; the other three varied, none up to the first one.

Jeez! Go figger The inconsistency should cause me some concern but, after smoking it yesterday, I can't imagine they would be so inconsistent, especially at the price.

Re: Trinidad TTT (DR)

I have been keeping my eye on a TTT Robusto gift set that has been at my B&M for quite a while now. It is 5 natural robustos and a sweet TTT ashtray for 30 bucks. I think I may grab it next time I am in there. It is in an obscure place of the walk-in, so I don't think anyone ever really notices that it is there.

I recommend that you jump all over that. Given the price and the fact that it is offered at a B&M for roughly an online price; I say it would be unlikely you could do better than that.

5 robustos and an ashtray for $30? Let me know if you decide to take a pass on it. Tried my first TTT natural over the Memorial Day weekend. Probably the best stick I smoked that whole weekend.
