Review - Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend
DATE: 2006/06/18
REVIEWER: Timothy "Texan_To_The_End" Piper CIGAR: Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend SIZE: 5.0 X 52 ORIGIN: Santiago, Dominican Republic WRAPPER: Brazilian Cameroon BINDER: Dominican FILLER: Dominican SHAPE: Robusto Grande AGE: Unknown. In my humidor since 2006/06/06 VENDOR: Traded with ChigaRay. (Thanks again!) PRICE: Unknown. Current retail is US $2.50 AMBIENCE: 6:30PM Father's Day. Just got home from a rather long drive to have lunch with relatives. Fairly cool from the front that moved through today, low humidity, and looks like more rain. BEVERAGE: None. APPEARANCE: A dark semi-oily veiny wrapper. Pretty hefty stick. This claims to be a Cameroon but sure looks maduro to me. PRE_LIGHT: Good taste and smell of wood and leather. DRAW: Perfect resistance. FIRST_THIRD: Dry tasting (typical of how Cameroon wraps taste to me) woody flavors. Had no sweetness at all in it. Was a bit harsh upon lighting and has disappated a bit but not completely. SECOND_THIRD: A little sweet buttery flavor started creeping in to the flavor mix. Still a bit too much wood flavor for my current preferences but pretty nice. FINAL_THIRD: That harsh taste started getting stronger towards the end. Buttery taste left after only a brief visit. BURN: Perfect. ASH: Very white flakey ash with a yellow center. SMOKE: Lots of extremely woody tasting yellowish smoke. STRENGTH: Medium with some harshness. FLAVOUR: Very woody profile with hints of butter and grass occasionally. FINISH: The woody flavors stayed with me for a good 30 minutes. SMOKE_TIME: 50 minutes. IMPRESSION: I've had other Cameroons lately, and they've had the same type of general taste profile, but none have been quite this harsh. It didn't taste like an age issue, but rather was just part of the way this stick tastes. Not horrible, but not my favorite. RATING: 6 out of a possible TEN wooden matchsticks. COMMENTS: I definitely rate the "Super Fuerte" much higher and among the short list of stuff that is always available in my humidor. The Cameroon just tastes rather more harsh than necessary to my taste. PICTURES: http://tinyurl.com/lxb7q |
