Review - Mi Cubano - 2 - Toro
DATE: 2006/06/21
REVIEWER: Timothy "Texan_To_The_End" Piper CIGAR: Mi Cubano SIZE: 6.0 X 50 ORIGIN: Esteli, Nicaragua WRAPPER: Ecuadoran (Maduro) BINDER: Honduran FILLER: Dom, Hon, Nic SHAPE: Toro AGE: Unknown. In my humidor since 2006/05/22. VENDOR: Gifted by Mr Maduroo. (Thanks again!) PRICE: Unknown. Current retail is US $3.70 each. AMBIENCE: Noon Wednesday, still sunny, hot & humid. RH is going waaaay up since the rain cleared out last night. BEVERAGE: Coffee - black. APPEARANCE: Veiny dark non-oily wrapper; a pretty hefty stick. PRE_LIGHT: Smelled very chocolaty. DRAW: A bit tight; I had to skewer a knot about two inches from the cap. FIRST_THIRD: Wrapper had a *very* bitter taste to it. Smoke was woody at first but got bland after a few puffs. Continued to smoke, waiting for that chocolate to appear, but it never did. SECOND_THIRD: Still bitter, but the woody taste came out a bit and piqued my interest. I decided to keep smoking rather than just set it down. FINAL_THIRD: It never did develop, and kept a bitter taste all the way to the end. (Note: this was my third strike today; three bad cigars in a row.) BURN: Very even burn, but it was obviously too tightly rolled. ASH: Very white solid ash. SMOKE: Not much smoke at all, and it was pretty bland/bitter. STRENGTH: Very mild. FLAVOUR: Tasteless & bitter mostly, with a hint of woodiness. FINISH: Took an IBC root beer to get the bitter taste out of my mouth. SMOKE_TIME: 45 minutes was all I could do. Put it down with about 2.5" left unsmoked. IMPRESSION: When I unwrapped this cigar and smelled it, I thought it was going to be wonderful from the pre-light aroma. Unfortunately it wasn't so. I would like other people's opinion on this, as if I just had a "dud" stick, I'll do another review later to try to change the rating. RATING: 2 out of a possible TEN wooden matchsticks. COMMENTS: It just wasn't my day so far for cigars. PICTURES: http://tinyurl.com/gf9bu |

My $2 yard gar; I've been through three boxes and never smoked one like you described. They ain't exactly like solid gold brilliant cigars, but I think you got a loser. I'd call them a 6. Sniff.
