Joya De Nic 1970 Antano (robusto?) Review

Got this from the NST from Dandee...

This is my first ever review so here it goes:

What caught my eye with this smoke was how small (~4.5" ~52rg) this BEAST was. It had a nice dark/oily wrapper.

The first third had some nice earthy/pepper flavors that really kicked in after the first couple of pulls.
The second Third the earthy/peppery (is that even a word?) flavors seemed to mellow out just before punching me in the face. A small bit of a coffee/coca flavor kind of teased me a tad.
The last third the earthy/peppery flavor came back and the cigar left a nice smooth earthy aftertaste just before the coffee/coca flavor came back.

All in all this is a very full flavored cigar and it seemed to not like it very much when I put it down, this smoke had me enthralled and was a great experience, I look forward to ordering a few of these and keeping them around for when I want to sit out in the yard and get kicked in the head.

What a nice buzz...

Damn fine cigar, with a nice kick despite it's size. Not for the uninitiated that's for sure!

A great smoke that had me sweating the first time - I really shouldn't have smoked it on an empty stomach.

Sounds like you had a consul, 4.5" x 52. I really like JdN's, I usually smoke the robusto grandes and the gran consuls. I don't find them overwhelmingly strong, but definitely a good, full cigar. I always have some of these around, and its fun to give one to the bro-in-law every once in a while just to watch him sweat!

I regularly smoke the Gran Consuls. I don't know I have been smoking Cigars for almost 20 Years and this is the only cigar ever to give me a buzz.

The consul is a very good smoke. The best of JDN that I have tried. Thanks for sharing.

Nice review. If you like this one try the Machito. It packs in all the same flavor in a petit corona size.

Re: Joya De Nic 1970 Antano (robusto?)

Good review. I've had a few of the JdN's and I have be displeased yet. I usually prefer a robusto & the JdN's are a peach in this size. I'll take any size I can get my hands on, though.

Thumbs up Re: Joya De Nic 1970 Antano (robusto?)

The Antano Line are some potent sticks but are also very tasty!

Nice review.

I don't smoke all that often so the first time I had one of those bad boys it was like riding the Nause-o-Whril at the fair. Fun, but it cost me three tickets and I lost my corn dog.

I'm glad you liked it. As others pointed out this in the Consul.

I beautiful little cigar...with a full flavored kick to it. I consider it the M-80 of cigars.

If you like the presentation of the cigar...you'll love the box. A nice varnished wooden box with rounded sides and a clasp.

Enjoy the other.
