Review - Indian Tabac Super Fuerte - 7 - Torpedo

DATE: 2006/06/28
REVIEWER: Timothy "Texan_To_The_End" Piper
CIGAR: Indian Tabac Super Fuerte
SIZE: 5.50 X 53
ORIGIN: Danli, Honduras
WRAPPER: Costa Rican (Maduro)
BINDER: Nicaraguan
FILLER: Hon, Nic, Costa Rican
SHAPE: Torpedo (called Petite Belicoso)
AGE: In my humidor since 2006/03/13.
VENDOR: CBid.
PRICE: I paid US $1.70 each for a box of these.

AMBIENCE:
3:30PM Wednesday. Still hot, humid & sunny.

BEVERAGE:
None.

APPEARANCE:
Non-oily dark smooth wrapper, slightly box-pressed. A very heavy, weighty solid cigar.

PRE_LIGHT:
Taste and smell was very buttery.

DRAW:
Perfect resistance, and I seem to remember the last one was a bit tight.

FIRST_THIRD:
Started out a bit harsh for the first half inch, and then got to a rich buttery-woody combination of tastes.

SECOND_THIRD:
Butter part diminished and woody taste came more to the forefront. A two-dimensional smoke I'd say. <G>

FINAL_THIRD:
Stayed consistent to the end, but didn't develop like the Hoyo or Partagas dark maduro's seem to do. By the time I was at the final third, the box-press had gone almost completely back to a round shape.

BURN:
A bit ragged and uneven, but I didn't need to apply the torch at all.

ASH:
A light grey solid ash with yellow center.

SMOKE:
Not a large volume of smoke, but what there was tasted pretty good.

STRENGTH:
Medium, getting slightly stronger at the end.

FLAVOUR:
A duet of wood and buttery tastes.

FINISH:
I could taste this 20 minutes after finishing the cigar. I just love that...

SMOKE_TIME:
65 minutes.

IMPRESSION:
I still like this cigar, despite the simpler less-refined type of taste it gives. Something about it just tastes good to me, and my tastes will have to change a lot for this to drop off my list.

RATING:
7 out of a possible TEN wooden matchsticks.

COMMENTS:
This is the only one of the Indian Tabac "flavors" that I really like. At least so far...

I have to tell you, "I love your review format!" in fact when the day comes and I make my first review, do you mind if I copy you a bit?

Use whatever you like... I even have versions of the review format completely blank and also with lines to print out for taking notes while smoking. You want 'em, PM me your email address and I'll send 'em to you.

Re: Review - Indian Tabac Super Fuerte - 7 - Torpedo

I have had one of these. I loved it. It just had a nice, smooth yet upfront sweet tabacco taste to it. It wasn't a stick where you had to guess how much flavour was there. But oddly enough, I didn't find it to be a very strong cigar buzz wise, and based on the name I expected a real hearty, spicy cigar. Nope. But they are GOOD.
