Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 Maduro Review
Yesterday at 2 I got a call from a buddy who was in town and wanted to grab some wings that evening. That meant I had some time to burn after work, and when there is time to burn, there are cigars to burn.
I headed down to Briars and Blends in Southtown St. Louis, a great shop. I picked myself up a LGC SR No 4, and an AF 858 M. I then headed to the park to torch one of 'em.I chose the AF 858 M, obviously. I have never had one, but I have been wanting to dig the one that I have out of my humi. The appearance was rough. The were a couple of veins, and the wrapper had some imprefections. My light was horrible. I was stuck outside in the park with matches. Idiot, I know! However, once this cigar got lit it corrected itself very nicely and set off on an even burn. The ash was light gray with a peppered look. The first few draws were a bit nutty, but not too much so. Moving into the smoke the hits of nut remained, and it turned a bit creamy. There was a spice that lingered in and out as I smoked this stick to the end. I was very satisfied with the flavor of this maduro. That burn was aboslutely great, it remained consistent and even. The ash held well, and as I let it naturally drop it the cigar remaind flush...no peaks of ash. Going beyond this rough appearance of this cigar, I found it to burn and taste wonderful. This is definitely a treat for under $4. Another winner for Fuente! |

Re: Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 Maduro
This my current go-to smoke out of my limited experience. Always a good smoke for me. Since your from St. Louis, have you ever been to the Trailhead restaurant? I believe its in St. Charles, but I'm not sure. Its been a while since I've been there, but they've got some great microbrew beers and some dynomite ribs.

Re: Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 Maduro
The AF 858 was the first real cigar I ever smoked, and I always keep some around. A consistently good smoke.
Nice review.
