AMBIENCE:
9AM Sunday morning. Not too hot but rather high humidity from all the rain.

BEVERAGE:
Coffee - black.

APPEARANCE:
Had a semi-oily dark veiny wrapper, almost reddish in color. This was also a rather heavy stick.

PRE_LIGHT:
A bit of a cocoa smell, but very minor. Almost no taste or smell on the pre-light.

DRAW:
A bit tighter than I like, so I skewered it. Perfect resistance afterwards, and required no further attention.

FIRST_THIRD:
The wrapper was quite pungent and tasty; not at all bitter. A dry woody taste to the smoke to begin, joined shortly by a grassy taste. This is a deceptively strong cigar.

SECOND_THIRD:
Wood and grass tastes blended very well, but didn't develop any further in complexity. Not a problem to have only simple flavors when they are as good as these.

FINAL_THIRD:
I don't know the age on this cigar, but it tasted quite mature. Perhaps one of the few not released for retail way before their time. The grassy flavors became dominant but the strength of the tobacco prevented this from becoming a sweet tasting smoke.

BURN:
A bit uneven but required no touch-ups.

ASH:
Very white and very solid ash.

SMOKE:
A lot of very tasty bluish smoke from this stick.

STRENGTH:
Medium to full-bodied.

FLAVOUR:
A wood and grass duet that was superb.

FINISH:
Didn't stay with me more than 15 minutes which surprised me. From the flavors I'd have thought it would last longer.

SMOKE_TIME:
One hour 10 minutes. This burned very slow and lasted a long time.)

IMPRESSION:
This had an excellent taste considering my taste for the dark oily maduro's. I highly recommend this cigar.

RATING:
9 out of a possible TEN wooden matchsticks.

COMMENTS:
This was an excellent cigar with coffee also. Some sticks don't go well with coffee in my opinion, and I try to remember to say so in my reviews. I would also say that this wouldn't be a typical morning cigar for the faint-hearted, because of it's strength. Very consistent smoke to the very end. And yes this is another one added to The List for me...

Nice review. I had one of these a few weeks ago. It had an uneven burn, as well. It also knocked me on my a$$.

Nice Review. I like the JdN torpedos as well. Very underrated cigar brand IMHO.

Thanks for the nice review. I have heard many good things about this particular cigar but have yet to try it. Almost all state that this is a strong cigar and should not be taken lightly.
