Cuban Crafters Romeo y Juileta Belvederes (Cuban Copy)

Right- a short intro for this cigar: whilst perusing CC i came across these labelled "Copies of the original Cuban brnad, made to taste just like them!" and i thought 'yeah, right' as you do whenever you see anyone claim their gars are just like cubans.
However, for the low, low price of 19.99 for 25 i thought what the heck, theeyre a decent convenient size if nothing else.
so when they finall arrived, i opened up the cellophane package of the bundle and was hit with the first cigar smell to excite me since i went to Cuba and was introduced to cigars. There was something about the lovely tobacco smell-strong enough but still quite smooth-that cried ou smoke me.
So i took one straight from the bundle (ignoring better instincts to rest them, but we do have a 67% ambient humidity in my area anyway so...) and cut it. Greeted by a slightly chocolate and earthy prelight draw.
First light was amazing-a medium bodied hit of fruity tastes. This lasted for the first third at least-a wonderful and not at all simple fruity taste-it never got boring once. The second third definately dropped off to a blander taste, along with the third, but it was worth it just for the amazing first third.
No construction issues were encountered-te ash stayed on for around 3/4 of an inch-impressive for a small 'gar and it looked very appealing.

Overall a great value buy that did not live up to its namesake but gave it a damn good run for its money in the first third!

sweet...and the price is right too. wierdly enough, i was on cuban crafters a few days ago...first time in quite a while...and i saw those and were curious if they were any good. so far in my experience, if it says it tastes like a cuban, its not a good cigar. but as long as these babies taste good, i may have to pick up a bundle. sure they dont taste like cuban...but thats what cubans are for. good is good.

Great review, David. I'm always on the lookout for good low-priced smokes, and these sound great. Another for the list lol!
