Don Kiki Limited Reserve Red Label; recently recieved in a sampler pack at the recent Wild Rose, WI Herf; Thanks Joe! If you're driving through the Coloma area he's got a great shop called Smoker's Edge with good prices and selection.
Pre-Light Aroma: Rich, light pepper Pre-Light Taste: very peppery! Pre-Light Draw: good a little loose Construction: Very good Wrapper is veiny and smooth Environment: On deck with fresh french roasted sumatra; the sumatra is nice, medium, and lightly spicy Torched foot and this cigar lit right away; kind of uneven but not too bad First Impression: Rich peppery, great draw, near full bodied, hint of spice and fruit through the nose. First 1/3: The smoke smells great as I evaluate the cigar in my hand. The first draw really reminded me of days when the Punch Rothschild was my goto cigar. However; in my opinion this cigar is much more refined. This cigar is a lot like the brown label in that the same flavor is exhibited but with additional peppery and spice. The draw isn't holding back any smoke; there is plenty rich thick smoke coming from this cigar when I take a draw every minute or so. At this point clouds decide to “rain on my parade” and I move this party to the garage. Not the most attractive milieu, but one that will provide adequate cover for all items involved. A nice fruit flavor is emerging now thought the nose with sweet flavors on my tong! I like it! Burning nice and even. Second 1/3: Seeming to mellow out a little bit to a solid medium body with good flavor. All the sudden a chewy leathery taste emerges. Leather continues and darkens as some tar makes an unwelcomed entrance. BLOW-OUT This purge gave me 10-15 more minutes of smoke. Put this out at around 1 hr 20 minutes or so. Final Comments: Good cigar; good value. I like the brown labels quite a bit better. This cigar gave me a quite a buzz; so much so I had to put it down for 5 minutes or so.

Re: Don Kiki Limited Reserve Red Label Toro
interesting review-ive smoked quite a few DKs and ive got to say that this review reflects many of my opinions. great smell and construction but it appears youve gotten a good one as ive ordered bundles of these where only half are smokable. the rest are chemically and build up an unpurgable eggy taste and arent worth smoking. glad you enjoyed yours and yes the brown labels are quite good!
