Jdn Antano 1970 Consul Review

The setting: 3pm 7/27/2006. On the front steps of my house
Drink: Budweiser Select

Ive had this smoke numerous times before, but decided to light up and enjoy, as its my last one in the humi, and Ive got a few weeks till I get paid again.

Another great smoke.. Kicked my butt, as usual. Lots of spice, kickbutt spice. Woodsy and leathery flavors.. Very full bodied as usual. Smoked it till my fingers couldn't hold it anymore.. and now, Im OUT. Oh well.. I'll find a way to get some more... Somehow, before I get paid.

Every time Ive smoked this cigar, its been a 10 outta 10.. I really don't know why I haven't made a box purchase on this one yet!

I must admit I like these too! But I would really go with a Guiness or a Beck or maybe Urqel Pilsner!!

Re: Jdn Antano 1970 Consul

Ive gotta be on a full stomach to even think about smoking one, but when I am, its a GREAT smoke.. the Camacho line does the same thing to me. I figured out that my dad owes me some money for some work I did for him, so maybe I will be able to buy some more smokes yet!

Re: Jdn Antano 1970 Consul

The Consul is like getting kicked in the balls twice, and the Gran Consul is like getting kicked in the balls, then punched in the gut, then kicked in the head, all at the same time
Scott

Edit: If I could find a box of Machitos anywhere for a decent price, Id buy them next time I get paid.

The JdN Antanos are one of my all time favorite cigars but I have only smoked the consul though I will keep an eye out for the other vitolas. They are very well priced too.

I smoked one of these for the first time last week and got a nice gut ache off of it. Besides that, it was an awsome cigar.

Re: Jdn Antano 1970 Consul

I have smoked several of these now. I get em from my local B&M for about 5 bucks. They are strong but, are well balanced and have some complexity. I like em with a nice dark beer ie: guinness or a brown ale; I usually need to drink two bottles over the course of the smoke

Sweet! I just got a box of these at JR's in Selma yesterday. By the way they smelled it seems like they are all ready pretty well aged, is this true?

Don does have a good price.. Ive found that I can get box of the Robusto Grande for $55 over at longashes2u.

I think thats where I will end up getting a couple boxes here in a little while after I get paid.

Re: Jdn Antano 1970 Consul

I got on of these from Ray (4WheelVFR) in the newbie pay it forward. I freakin loved this cigar. I smoked it a couple weeks ago. The problem is nothing I have smoked since then seems to be full bodied enough for me. This cigar at least for me has mellowed out some other cigars. I guess it defines full bodied for me so other smokes seem now to be medium. Thanks again Ray. This will be my next box purchase. Thanks for the review (reminder).
