Great reviews! I have a few of the Edge Maduros resting in the humi but have yet to try one.

I think I'll have to stop by the B&M on the way home and grab a few Edge Lites as well to try.

It was a really wonderful smoke. I had hesitations, because I usually prefer the darker wrappers, but this stogie has a fullness and roundness that is very seductive. It started out with an easy draw and clouds of smooth smoke with hints of cafe au lait. It was deceptively easy and mellow until a bit more than 1/2 way, then the draw firmed up a bit and the flavors became a whole lot more intense. By 2/3 down I was getting a strong nicotine hit, and shortly after let it go. It was almost like 2 different cigars in one, i.e. mild first 1/2, and a powerful 2nd.

I think this dichotomy will even itself out with time, and there will be more of an evenness.

I'm sure many jungle dwellers have tried these since this thread ended, I was thinking that a little more input could be interesting... Larry.

Glad you liked em Larry, and thanks for reviving the thread. It's a great smoke and I'm surpries it's still kind of an "under the radar" smoke. Your description nailed it!

Nice reveiw man. I eye these up every time I'm at the local shop but have yet to pull the trigger. Might have to grab a couple tomorrow!

yup, that's why i asked.
I have not had either the edge or the edge lite but i do like the '90 and '92's. I just want to see how people compare the edge lite to the '90 in strength and overall enjoyment
Any thoughts?

Re: Edge Lite

IMO i'd say the Edge lite was slightly stronger (if you're talking about "buzz" stronger) than the '90 and '92's. However, I enjoy them very much. I'm not even that big a fan of the Connecticut Shade wrapper, but this one does it for me. I'd definitely recommend it to you.

I have only tried the RP Sung Grown and loved it. So I could imagine how good these are. I have a Edge lite and some regular edges in the humi but lent isn't over yet so no smokey for me.....yet.

MS:
They are two different animals. The Edges are fuller in body than the Vintage brands, and have a stronger taste. But both the Vintages and Edges are tasty. The Edge lite, though a "lite", is IMO fuller in body and taste than the Vintages, and again very tasty. I think you will find them enjoyable. As someone said, they are different, and thats a reason for smoking them.

Re: Edge Lite

Interesting comments. I was in my B&M not too long ago. Bought a Puros Indios, sat down in the shop and enjoyed it while watching a little basketball. Figured I had time so I went back in for seconds. Of course, the sales guy had to follow me and ask me again if I had any questions. I've had a RP Edge in the past and enjoyed it, saw they had the Edge maduro and the Edge lite and I thought I might want something a little more medium bodied for my second smoke and asked the guy about the Edge Lite - he said it was like smoking a cigarette - very light bodied smoke. He certainly didn't like it. All these comments lead me to believe that this young guy was full of . Then he tries to lead me to the most expensive smokes in the humidor. "have you tried the graycliff?" I like to support my local B&M but this kind of irritates me. I may have to go to a different shop and pick one of these Lites up to try.
