Kahlua Cigarillo Review

So I once smoked a tin of ten of these within about 2 or 3 weeks in March. I thought these things were awesome. This was once I was out of the Swisha/Philly stage and into the "Premium" Flavoureds/Acid stage.

Well my friend left a few of these in my humidor (triple bagged of course) and he said I could have one.

So tonight I whipped one out because I loved the smell of them and I used to love to smoke em.

Setting: A walk around the block with a friend, temperature in the low 80's I would guess and pretty high humidity (I'm in Houston).

Stick: Looked well made, firm, a bit veiny. Smelled like chocolate/coffee. MMM

I lit this thing up really easily, burned well. But once my lips came into contact with the wrapper I winced. The sweet tip that I used to love so much now tastes acrid and artificial to me.

I take about 3 or 4 more draws of it, trying to ignore the sweet tip, and try to think about the thin white smoke with a weird flavour.

Nope.

I torched the sucker and left it in the streets for the insects.

Conclusion: I no longer like artificially sweetened tips on the Kahlua cigars. I really thought I would like smoking this a lot, because I used to love them (especially with a Dr. Pepper). Now I hate it. My how things change taste wise in a few months of smoking good cigars.

Youre a brave, brave man! Youll start to notice how your tastes will fluctuate even amongst premiums, say between natural wrappers and maddies!

I also made the transition to premium tobacco cigars through Kaluha/Java cigars. It took me a few months of smoking non-flavored cigars to realize it's all about the taste of the tobacco. A java is still nice now and then, but no more Kaluhas or sour apple Phillies!

Re: Kahlua Cigarillo

I just came back from a week long lakeside camping trip where I had brought a few Kahlua Petit Coronas (Bigger then Cigarillo, with band) and a few Java Wafes.

I'll agree with you TechMetalMan about the stick traits, nice smell, fairly well built.

Just like you, I was shocked as soon as my lips hit that tip. I was fairly disgusted by the first 1/4 of an inch, but pressed on, hoping there was light at the end of the dark, nasty tunnel...

Didnt find it.

I let the girls I were with play around with the remainder of my Kahluas.

I also tried out the Java Wafe, didn't get great results, but I won't squash Java just yet. I have 2 more tries, a Wafe and a 58.

The one Java I have had I enjoyed quite a bit, didn't have that same artificial taste on the tounge from what I remember. I could have lost my memory though

Good review. When I first started smoking cigars I'd pick up a pack of these every now and then, but you're right, after a little while of smoking good stuff they taste like crap.

Re: Kahlua Cigarillo

i rarely smoke them, as I preffered non flavored/infused cigars. But everyonce in a while I induldge myself in a Kahlua Espcial or a Wafe. They are deffinitely different, but fine smokes in their own right.

Re: Kahlua Cigarillo

I would be scared to keep them in a humidor with other top shelf cigars because they have such a strong aroma.

Kahlau makes a Wafe? Or are you talking about the Java?
