Re: 5 Vegas Reviews: Limitada '05, Gold, & Series "A"

I tried another Series "A" tonight and am pleased to report I had a much better experience this time. I don't know if it was a better cigar, or if I was in a better mood, or maybe just because I smoked it on a full stomach with a glass of red wine after dinner.

But this one was less harsh, smoked slower, and had a great taste.

All in all, I'm very impressed with 5 Vegas, so far.

Ive found that the A's are much better after a few weeks in the humi. When they are young, they are a bit too strong for me.

5 Vegas Gold has become my favorite. I'm not as experienced as most of you folks and have smoked only 18 different cigars but this one really stands out.

Agreed - I like them better than even the Mac Gold.

Re: 5 Vegas Reviews: Limitada '05, Gold, & Series "A"

Just received a 5 Vegas Serie 'A' Mega-Sampler from CI. Smoked a churchill this afternoon. It's a nice tasting cigar with good burn and smoke for the price. There was a little pepper taste to it (which does not bother me), but I will see if this goes away after they rest for awhile.

Re: 5 Vegas Reviews: Limitada '05, Gold, & Series "A"

I will weigh in on this review, if I may.

I had a series "A" gifted to me through a NST pass (I apologize, I can't remember by who). It has been sitting in my humi for several months, and I finally pulled the trigger on this smoke today.

My smoke setting was in my truck, in the last hour of a 4 hour trip, after burning down a K. Hansotia Sherpa and a Montecristo Platinum. I can't say that I was surprised to find the 5 Vegas was the more enjoyable of the three, because I currently am finding many maddies that I enjoy. I guess my stick must have had at least a little age on it, because I found the stick to be a very enjoyable smoke. It started out smooth, sweet and cocoa flavored, burned solidily to the last inch (no touch-ups needed), got a little warn in the last 1 1/2 inches, but most do when I chose to smoke them that close. The last 2 inches or so smoked with more spice overtones, but still had the underlying sweetness. The ash on this baby burned more grayish black than white, and held on tightly at over an inch, even when held in the slipstream outside the driver's window. I rate this stick as a 8.75 on a 10 scale. Not only would I smoke another of these, I find thatthey are the CI special of the day, and have put an order in for some to stash away.

I will shortly search out the giver of this stick in the old threads of the NST, and give him a personal thanks!

Edit: Looked it up in NST. scc135 is the noob that kindly gifted me this stick, back in March of this year, so I have had it resting, hiding away for 5 months, waiting for my tastes to turn towards maddies. Thanks, Eugene.

i relly like the gold, but otherwise i've never had one that hasn't started to unravel when i cut it for some reason.

i've had burn issues, unravelling, and mediocre taste in all but the gold.

I think I had one of these way back, but I can't remember for sure. After joining CS, however, I've only heard great things about all the Vegas smokes. I'll have to get some and (re)try them. Great review.

I just somked a gold tonight for the first time. It had a very tight draw though out. Flavor was pleasant and mild. I would smoke one again if the tight draw was a fluke occurence. It felt like I was trying to suck a golf ball through a garden hose.

Re: 5 Vegas Reviews: Limitada '05, Gold, & Series "A"

THANK YOU for properly posting the "Cinco Vegas" name - I get tired of my friends asking for "five vegas" cigars! Good set of reviews, I started smoking cinco vegas back in the '90s when I could get them on yahoo! auctions for 30.00/box. They were great then and they are great now for the price. Back then, only the red labels were available. Now the Series A, the Golds, and the Limitadas really enhance this budget line.

Excellent Review!!!

The Cinco's are among my favorites.... Not so much for depth of flavor (I prefer the "A"s), but for quality of construction. For the price (IMHO), these qualify as Premium cigars at a Value price.

Re: 5 Vegas Reviews: Limitada '05, Gold, & Series "A"

I've got some Limitada 05s resting and some 06s as well.

haven't smoked either yet and am a little disappointed I won't have a chance at anymore 05s if I really like them.

How do the 06's compare to the 05's. Hopefully they compare favorable and my worries will be alleviated.

Love the A's - great bargain at CBID. (I guess they all are for that matter)

Cheers,

BillyBarue

I did a review on the Limitada 06 here: http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthr...t=22005&page=2

It was in the same thread I started for the Limitada 05; I have smoked them both.

Man I gotta say, the Series A's are one of my favorite smokes. i'm a big maduro fan, and these cigars have everything great that I love about maduros. If you really think the IT Super Fuertes are even better, I can't wait to try one of those. I have several sitting in my humidor.

nice reviews!
