Padron 1964 Exclusivo- A Noob's Perspective

Alright my palate isn't as developed as you guys, what I can on a cigar is whether or not it's smooth or peppery, and if it tastes like coffee. Today I lit up a Padron Anni Exclusivo to say goodbye to my beloved Miami cause I'm off to college in Tennessee in two days. Temp was in the high 80's and there was a pretty high humidity to... I think like 85 or something. Pretty windy too.

Well, the thing tasted REALLY good with Fanta orange soda. I mean I was feeling the whole hints of coffee and stuff within the cigar. But halfway through the cigar I had to switch to coke. Well, the coke didn't mingle well with the cigar, it was still good, but I had to get used to it. But starting a little past where the band started, it started getting really harsh and just never went back to how it was. All in all it took me about 45 minutes to smoke to that specific point in the cigar. I also noticed that it started when I slowed down on my puffs. I finally stopped when I accidentally inhaled a good portion of one of my draws, wasn't a good experience.

Well, all in all, I'd reccomend it just for the first half of the cigar. Maybe if I continued sipping fanta or something it might have been better.

The '64 is a great cigar. I wouldn't try any drink but water with 'em, unless you have had experience with it. The taste is sooo good on these, I wouldn't want any drink to spoil it. Try it again when you get the chance, and skip the soda. If you do try cigars with a drink, typically don't switch your drink halfway through...it can really mess with your tastes. Unless of course, the cigar is nothing special.

Sorry, I can't find anything bad to say about the Exclusivo or any of the Padron Annis. Nat or Mad both are awsome, keep trying bro...Dave

This cigar, along with a few others, are some of the few that I smoke until I burn my fingers. I would recommend it for much more than the first half.

Orange soda and a good cigar. Now that's one thing I've never considered trying. Have some 1964's sitting in the cooler that the wife gave me for my Birthday in June...have yet to smoke one but you have me thinking about one for this evenng....less the Fanta.

The only non cuban I still make sure to have on hand. One of the best money can buy. Superb unique flavor and always perfect construction.

alcohol or coffees the best way to go as i find it complements the taste of the cigar, adding to the flavours.
