Review - Consuegra No.300 "Habano Oscuro"
Consuegra No. 300 "Habano Oscuro"
Length 5 inches Ring 50 Wrapper - Honduras Binder - Honduras Filler - Honduras, Nicaragua, Dominican Body - Mild to Medium Background:4th Stick I have smoked from a 1 month old bundle. Advertised as Oscuro, but Maduro would be more accurate IMO. This review is a reflection of the one I am smoking this evening 8/12/06. This is the 3rd variation of Consuegra's I have ordered/tried. Along with the No.502, this one is my favorite. I also ordered the No.9 Maduro Rothschild's ...every one of those so far has had a tight draw and seem plugged...also a bit mild. Now, to the review of the No. 300... Appearance: Nice. The cigar looks great, feels good in your hand, and is construced well. A bit veiny and slightly (very slightly) oily. Pre Light: Grassy/Manure Smell. Perfect Draw. Drink: Miller Light Light Up: This stick sparks right up, No reluctance. Ash/Smoke Volume: White Ash, Good Smoke volume. Can vary a bit from stick to stick. First 3rd: Nutty! Tastes like peanuts. Slightly Woody flavor as well. Required a Burn Correction. Second 3rd: Nut flavor remains, can't really detect the woody flavor anymore. Required a purge due to some bitterness. Slightly Spicy. Detected a very slight Carmel flavor as well. Last 3rd: Stick got bitter again. Required another purge. Nut flavor still there along with the very subtle Carmel and Spiciness. Started to Canoe, but corrected itself. Finish: Still Nutty with that subtle Carmel Flavor. Didn't Nub it because the bitterness returned again... Overall: Tasty Cigar. I like them! For a little over 1 dollar per stick, it's a great deal. I also think they will improve with age... |

Re: Review - Consuegra No.300 "Habano Oscuro"
Thanks for the review, this is one I've been thinking of trying along with the #9's ... so far the #30 is one of my favorites, espesially the Maduro.
And the #84M is a treat.
