La Unica Cameroon Series #4 Robusto Review

La Unica Cameroon is a handmade, premium, long-filler cigar made with aged Dominican filler tobaccos and Connecticut-grown wrappers. Manufactured at Tabacalera A. Fuente...ok, now that I have that out of the way...let me tell you something about this cigar: I LOVED IT.

OK, so I've done a mini-review on this cigar - but let's face it...that just didn't do it any justice. For those who like medium to full-bodied cigar...this is the ticket. A smooth consistent draw everytime greets your palate with a hint of earthy and spicy flavor and its african wrapper give it an exceptional creamy, rich flavor for a perfect compliment.
The ash ran white and true and the stick was a perfect temp throughout the entire smoke. I had the opportunity to sip on some cherry merlot from Forrest Glen while smoking on this stick and it made for a percect combination. If you can stomach a full-bodied smoke, then I highly recommend this series...not as harsh as you would think and surprising mild for a typically full flavored stick.

Flavor: 4/5 out of 5
Ash/Burning: Even and slow burning - this cigar was not in a hurry and neither was i.
Return visit: I'm buying a box. Nuff said.

Thanks for reading.

I like this cigar as well. Have also smoked my way through a couple of boxes of torpedos/pyramids and liked them a lot, too.

Never heard of these but I'll keep my eye out for them.

I haven't had a Cameroon that I have really liked yet, but I've only had two or three so...

I've had a Torano 1916 Cameroon- that was a churchhill I beleive. It had a tough draw and just bland flavours.

I've also had an Alec Bradley Trilogy Cameroon that I didn't find too exciting.

And an Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend (something along those lines) that I found bland as well.

All of these were smoked a few months ago and I've smoked a lot more cigars since then, so maybe my palate is more refined now. Not sure, I need to revisit some of these. And no, I like more medium to full flavoured smokes, and it seems like most cameroons are more on the mild-medium bodied end of the spectrum. But in a lot of the reviews I read I read about the sweetness of the cameroon wrapper which intrigues me.

You describe this as more medium to full so I am interested in this one. I'm gonna check to see if my local b&m carries these.

That's nuts...I would consider all that you named good smokes. Whic Trilogy did you smoke? I find the Authentic Corojo to be excellent.

I have only tried a few of the La Unica 200's. They are pretty mild. I would say they are good, not great, but above average for a mild cigar.

Thumbs up Re: La Unica Cameroon Series #4 Robusto

I had one of these sitting in my humidor for 4 months, lit it up today and was I ever impressed. The burn , draw and ash were exceptional. The flavour was excellent, medium strength, tasting of leather, cream, tobacco and pepper on the finish. I will definitely be buying a box of these. Thanks for your review, Rick

KASR, I've tried this cigar and really liked it, too. Haven't tried any others in the line, but the #400 is a good smoke for the money.

Nice review, that cigar is one of my favorites, very smooth, and a little tangy. =)
