La Gloria Cubana- Maduro Serie R #4 Review

Man, this thing looked SOOO good! I was super excited about it, left it in the humi for 2 weeks since purchasing from my B&M.

Well I lit it- HARD draw! Damnit!

TERRIBLE burn. What the hell?

Flavour is pretty good from the bits I taste from the tiny amounts of smoke I got. Nice and sweet, with some spice every now and again.

I have another that I am going to let sit for quite a while.

I had such high expectations...

Well it's always possible to get a bad one - I have been very lucky with them - never had a bad one which puts them on the top of my hit list.

The next one will go good for you -

Ive never had a bad one either.. Both of the ones Ive had were outstanding. I loved em.. I want more, but just can't afford it. BTW, if you are smart, you will eat something before smoking the next one.

Sorry to hear that you got a plugged stick - La Glorias are one of my old standbys, and I cant recall a time that I had a bad one. Maybe the other stick will impress. Its worth a try...

The only issue that I have ever had with any LGCs has been uneven burn. I hope that you will give them another shot.

Re: La Gloria Cubana- Maduro Serie R #4

I stopped off at my B&M yesterday and saw these. I almost pulled the trigger on a couple but didn't. I will probably get a few today omw home from work. One thing I noticed though at my B&M, they have really cranked up their humidity machines; they have these things cranked up bigtime, spraying out cool mist that it's actually wet in there. I see why they are doing it, because it has been very hot in Maryland. So, when I buy from them I need to sit my smokes in my humi for a week or two.

I had a few issues with these as well when I first started smoking them. Ive found that keeping my humidity at 65% really helps these out alot, I agree with the others about letting them sit a bit. Hopefully you will have better luck in the future with them. I really like em.

I've had this stick and enjoyed it - had to relight quite a few times becuz they are tightly rolled it seems. A very good smoke tho - if you have the patience for it. Good review! Give them a nother chance...keep your rH at about 65% and it should do fine.

Re: La Gloria Cubana- Maduro Serie R #4

Yep I've been siting at 65% since I bought my humidor (thanks Viper!).

I'll let the other one sit a while.

It's funny- the last LGC I had (a natural Wavell) had a super easy draw. Then I have this one and it's plugged.

My buddy had a LGC R 4 a few days ago in the natural shade- his was a tough draw too. I'm worried that my next one will be plugged as well.

A favorite of mine! Sorry to hear you had a bad stick. I had the same problem with the second one of these that I smoked, but decided to give them another try. I'm glad I did because I love them.
