Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 Review

SMOOOOTH
I was gifted this stick awhile back so its been aging, and doign it very well. The light was ever so simple... Had to do a little toast, then flame on.
right before this stick i had a very low grade cigar so this was AWSOME, Still without the crap first cigar experience this was a very nice cigar.
If a cigar could be juicy and flavorfull, this woudl have hit the mark. It was definetly the Fillet Mignon of cigars of this month.
SO much smooth smoke, Great flavor, perfect burn, nice firm ash, which didnt stay on for TOO long, but hell the smoke and flavor is what is needed to make a good cigar, not the length of the ash haha.
All in all this thing was a BEAST and i got to get my hands on some more of them cus i am completly dry.
S.T-( just another stick worthy of a review ..which i havent had many lately that were worthy )

Thanks for the review. If only I hadn't spent all my money last week.

The 1990's are really good. Look around, there is usually a good deal offered on these.

I also agree. My wife was kind enough to let me buy a box of 1990 today. All it cost me was letting her change the bathroom motif. Well worth it.

Re: Rocky Patel Vintage 1990

I like the 1992s better than the 1990s but it is a very close race. I have a box of 92s with a years age on them and the first one I smoked was awsome. I always have 1990 and Edge Maduros in the humidor. They are few of my go to smokes.

Re: Rocky Patel Vintage 1990

The RP Vintage 1990 is one of my favorites as well. IMO, they have the best burns and ash characteristics; always solid and tight.

The flavor is earthy and toasty; not overly strong that it distracts you.

What size did you smoke? Toro and Torpedo are tops in my book!

Re: Rocky Patel Vintage 1990

You know, I was just going to post about these today. I had one this afternoon (1990 Churchill) and I could not keep the SOB going. About 1/3 in, I had to puff like mad to keep this thing from going out. That made that 'gar heat up too much, and after 15 minutes of this, I just had to call it quits and toss it. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed. I was not pleased and pretty surprised, as all of the other RPs that I've had (including Nording, Indian Tabac, etc) have all burned well for me, especially the 1992 Petit Robusto I had on Friday.

'Twas tasty

What's wrong with me, I've had a couple and they didn't light me up with excitement. Guess it's time to dig one out of my "trade" box and give it another try.

Great review Guitar, I love Rocky's IT line, and have been meaning to try the 1990 and 1992. Might have to go back to the devil site and increase my losing bid.

Re: Rocky Patel Vintage 1990

Good review, the 1990 robusto and the petit corona are a couple of my favorites. Good medium bodied smoke.
