Today I decided to try my first Bobalu cigar...the Brown Label.
I pulled this from a box pass a while ago, so not sure how old this smoke is.
It is quite attractive, with a maduro wrapper that is quite smooth with a few small veins. The cigar is nicely wrapped and the seams and cap are well done. The entire cigar has a nice firm feel and a floral aroma.
It cut well and took the flame from my zippo easily...whoa...a sweetened tip...that was a surprise! The initial flavor was creamy and floral...very nice with a lot of smoke and some spice in the nose. Definately a surprising start to this cigar.
The flavor remained creamy throughout and at times gave some leather, mostly returning to the floral notes. There wasn't a lot of transition in this cigar but the flavors were very nice and the smoke kept me interested.
The burn ferformance of this cigar was perfect, with a straight burn line and a firm gray ash. I only ashed the cigar once at the halfway point, and the rest held to the nub, which I allowed to go out on its own with less than an inch remaining.
Since I didn't research this prior to the review, and it's been a while since I pulled it from the pass, I can't speak on price but I would be happy in the 5-7 range.
I would give this 4.25 really, and recommend it to you all for at least one try...just wish I had more!
