Cuesta-Rey Centenario Maduro #60 6x50 Review
I have been smoking a lot of new cigars lately and really haven't had the time to write down what I was thinking, but tonight I thought it was time to write it down again.
I got some Cuesta-Rey Centro Fino Sungrown cigars and a shirt for joining the JC Newman cigar club which piqued my interest in the brand. I haven't smoked one of those yet but I tried this one tonight. Construction: A little veiny with a very oily maduro wrapper. It felt a little heavy for it's size, which is usually a good sign (you could see the crystalized oils on the wrapper...yummy). Pre-Light Aroma: Wonderful sweet tobacco and mildly floral aromas. Pre-Light Draw: A tad tighter than a RP Edge but easy enough that it wasn't any work to get a good draw. The Good Stuff: upon lighting, it had a very creamy flavor profile with some almost sweet tobacco flavors which almost bordered on caramel. It kept that flavor throughout and developed a little spice and coffee during the second half. It was slightly on the mild side of medium with just enough strength to match the excellent taste without overpowering it. It did have a finish which was shorter than I would have liked but overall a GREAT smoke and a decent price. You could tell that Fuente had something to do with this based on construction alone but it had a unique flavor that I had not had before tonight. Burn and Ash: Kept a consistent burn and held the white/gray ash for the first 3 inches before letting go. Final thoughts: Since this was my first Cuesta-Rey I did not have a lot of expectations but this was a very nice change of pace from the stronger smokes I have had lately. I think that it would go great with some good coffee in the morning or with a Bailey's or Kahlua at night. It will not be my last Cuesta-Rey by a long shot. Scottie |

Re: Cuesta-Rey Centenario Maduro #60 6x50
Great Review! This was one (if not the first) box purchase that I made. It is great for the times you do want a very powerful smoke, but still want good flavor.
