Carlos Torano Casa Torano Robusto Review

The first NC in my holiday series, had on the first day after arrival. 7.0 rating but this isnt a big name Fuente or Monte. More of a yard gar:

Name: Carlos Torano Casa Torano Robusto
Batch No.:
MSRP:
Size: Robusto
Aged in my humidor: Bombed
Drink Choice: Apple juice
Occasion: Sat by Pool, celebrating arrival
Time of smoke & Weather Conditions: Natural wrapper [i think] a few prominent veins.
Cut Choice: Guillotine
Pre-Light thoughts: Good draw, sweet tobacco taste
The Light: Good
The Draw: Good
First third: First two puffs medium bodied, hint of spice, tobacco taste along with sweet choc taste. Mellowed out to creamy basic tobacco flavour.
Second third: Lost flavour gradually to become harsher with less flavour.
Final third: Same flavours but lots of harshness.
Final note: Not a great cigar but for a lower end yard gar this wouldnt be bad. Nice basic flavour but nothing special.

I've been having similar experiences with these lately. i.e the loss of flavor the further down the smoke you get. Since starting to smoke the fuller bodied sticks (CAO Brazilia, RP Sungrown etc) I can't can't seem to get as much enjoyment out of these. I think I'll keep them in rotation though for morning coffee cigars. Thanks for the review.

Re: Carlos Torano Casa Torano Robusto

great review Dave.

as im a milder cigar fan i really like these as a general smoke.

i find it weird that for cigars i like mild sticks but for pipe tobacco i like a strong flavour hit, how odd?!?

Re: Carlos Torano Casa Torano Robusto

I smoke a lot of Toranos (Signatures, Golds and Silvers) but this cigar was a big let down for me. I read tons of great reviews of this and had it highly recommended from other BOTL. Could be the ones I bought. Got them fresh from a Torano rolling event. THey sat for at least 3 months before I smoked the fist one. Like mentioned above not a bad cigar just not the same caliber as the rest of the Torano lines.

Thanks for the review- I think I will avoid these.

I had a Silver Exodus that was ok and I have two signature series in my humidor. I hope those are better.

Re: Carlos Torano Casa Torano Robusto

Thanks for the good review.
I have alot of Toranos in my humidor, and I like this particular stick, but usually only with morning coffee. I let them sit awhile before smoking them, mild and creamy.
