Got a bundle of 20 from international a couple days ago. Suprised how small they were, but maybe that's because i'm used to robustos or larger (which i'd have preferred but they sold because they were so cheap).
Construction was very good - very nice, dark, almost oily box press. Draw was a bit tight for my liking, especially since I was out for a walk with the dog & I like to go pretty briskly..I don't like to have to work too hard on a cigar whilst walking. But once I got used to it, it wasn't the worst draw i've ever had. I've had a couple box press & they have also been a bit tight, so I was expecting it. It burned unevenly from the get-go, but I'll have to smoke another, because I lit it pretty quickly because I wanted to get walking as it was getting darker out...so that may have played a part in having to touch up one side of the wrapper a couple times...after that it burned perfectly. Smoke - no complaints - lots of whitish smoke on demand. Taste - started out just a bit strong & spicy, but after a few puffs (& after I got the wrapper burning evenly) it smoothed right out. I found it quite tasty...I really like maduros & this one was no slouch. I have enjoyed other Indian Tabac maduros, and this was no exception. I really liked the taste. Strength - You know, I know that SUPER FUERTE is supposed to be super strong, and while I found this to have a lot of bold, good taste, it wasn't unpleasant like some strong cigars I've had. It did give me a bit of the buzz, but didn't give me any problem like some really strong or nicotine-y cigars do. I haven't been smoking cigars long, and sometimes cigars can make me feel poorly..this one didn't it was just right. I'll have to say that i'm glad that I got these, especially since they were a steal ($35 inc. shipping for a bundle of 20 on an international 1 day sale.) Oh, and you know how sometimes with a strong cigar, your mouth tastes bitter a couple hours later? Well, I still had the flavor a couple hours later, but it tasted just as good as when I was smoking the stick. Well, I know that some of you seasoned smokers probably like a lot better stuff, but these were a great bang for the buck in this noob's opinion. ![]() |

Re: Indian Tabac Extra Fuerte Maduro Corona
Celtic:
So I had my first Indian Tabac Maduro Super Fuerte tonight, and here are my reactions to it: I liked it a lot, and am glad I finally had one. I just bought it about 4 days ago , and it was a little wet and soft. I figure if I let the other two I just bought rest for a month or two they will really come into their own The size I smoked was probably a corona, it was about 5 inches and a 48 rg. Even though it was very soft it lit easily and I had no burn problems with it at all. I smoked it on my front porch during heavy rains with a couple of beers (Porter). The pre-light taste was kind of sweet and spicey. The spice reminded me of something I had already; once lit I immediately knew what; an RP Edge Maduro. It has the taste and flavor of an Edge Maduro but very subdued. While smoking it I tried to put myself in Rocky Patels' head as he was developing the Edge. It made sense to me; he developed the Super Fuerte and was on to something; his next product had to be an improvement on the SF, so why not just turn it up a thousand? Then came the Edge. I swear, as I was smoking the SF it all came to me after the first 3 inches; this was a toned down version of the Edge Maduro! The flavor, taste and fullbodied profile all are very similar to the Edge, which followed closely on the heels of the Super Fuerte. It also showed me some complexity as I got to the halfway point, I tasted some undertones of nuttiness, and coffee, and there was a distinct aftertaste of unsweetened chocolate. I don't think the super fuerte is all that strong, but whats in a name? But after smoking it I get the distinct impression that it is the precursor of the much stronger, more intense Edge type. I have had several Edge smokes over the past 4 months or so, and I like them very much. The super fuerte, while not as intense, is definitely a fine cigar and one I will make sure I have more of. I thank you for bringing this thread up ![]()

Re: Indian Tabac Extra Fuerte Maduro Corona
Great review-that initial spice in the first few puffs is quite common in many cigars, in my experience.. then they always tend to mellow out.

Thanks for the review. I bit on the deal from CI also, got the Corona natural. CI is really killing me on the e-mail specials!

Re: Indian Tabac Extra Fuerte Maduro Corona
I agree with the comments that the Super Fuerte name can be a little misleading. I was still fairly new when I tried my first one, and had made sure to eat something ahead of time. I was surprised to find it more of a medium to almost mild bodied stick. Of course I thought the flavor is great. It became a regular after that first smoke.

Re: Indian Tabac Extra Fuerte Maduro Corona
I smoked a toro size IT SF when I was a very new smoker- just out of the acid phase, beginning to really enjoy natural tabacco cigars.
I really enjoyed it too. I was expecting a strong, spicy cigar because of the name, but instead recieved a pleasantly sweet and smooth cigar. My local BM doesnt carry IT products so I haven't picked up any since, but I think I will someday to revisit it and see what I feel about it now after a 6 months of smoking real cigars.
