Smoked my first Rocky Patrel Sungrown tonight

I was going to have a '90 that was gifted to me the other day but it was plugged badly. A large stem toward the head of the cigar. I had a sungrown, also gifted. I'm glad the '90 was plugged.

I enjoyed that badboy for about an hour. Smooth great tasting smoke. It's good to be a patelian.

I bought a few SG's about 6 weeks ago at a B&M. Smoked one the next day, and couldn't understand what all the fuss was about. Smoked another a couple a weeks later, it seemed too earthy, kind of ordinary, but still pretty good.
Yesterday I smoked another (torpedo) and after only 6 weeks in the humi, it had smoothed out and opened up. The typical cloud-like fragrance was there, it was full bodied, but nicely rounded. In short, I was won over. THEY JUST NEED A LITTLE HUMI TIME! EUREKA!
I am a Patelian too. Love them all, especially the OWR's, which I'm building up inventory on. These are really not too tightly packed, at least the ones I'v smoked. The draw has been very easy. With most of the RP's I use a guillotine & take off enough to leave a dime size opening. Larry.

I agree wholeheartedly, I had one this afternoon from a box I boguht in july or august and it was excellent. I found the draw on these to be better than the OWR Maduro I had a few weeks back, the Sg seemed much smoother. Although I still have a hard time recalling if it got better with age or was just as good as the first one I tried at the B&M. Oh well, looks like I need antoher box.

Seems like I am the only one that didn't like the sungrown very much...

I have another that I'm aging, we'll see how it is.

Had one of these this evening. Enjoyed it very much. It was very flavorful and had a good, steady draw. My only drawback was having to relight once. Got a phone call and had to run back inside . Even after the relight, it held its flavor without being too harsh. It did have a bit of a kick towards the end and that was enjoyable as well.

Overall, I think I might have to purchase some more.
