Felipe Gregorio Centenario Review

I just finished one of these at 6 X 54 it is the liga B vitola. I scored a 5'er a week ago and got em on Tuesday. I let em rest and smoked one so I can compare; I'm gonna let the rest of em rest for a few months and here's why:

I lit the thing without trouble and the ash immediately began to grow. The draw was exceptional. I was curious because I read several accounts that this type had been having construction problems; I had no trouble at all.
It has aged tobaccos; the wrapper is a 1992 Habana with Fg's top shelf Nic fillers; this is what attracted me to pull the trigger on these.
So the deal with these is, they are supposed to have rich smoky flavors, with hints of Oak and mocha, earthy and smooth, and overall it is supposed to be 'tasty, balanced and consistent'
Well I sniffed the cigar before lighting it and liked it. There is a sweet tobacco smell to it that is very nice.
I couldn't tell much from the pre-light draw but, once lit I at once noticed the ease of the draw and loads of tasty, sweet smoke. These are still kind of wet and need more time, the flavors are kind of vague.
The leather is there and so is the oak. The earthiness isn't 'in your face' but it's got body; indications that it is a well balanced smoke. And just around the midway mark I tasted spice, not a lot but as a background accent; it was pleasant.
This is not a "knock your socks off smoke" at all, but it is complex and interesting with tastiness throughout. Now there have been several posts attesting to the benefits of letting cigars rest, and age. I can tell that this is one smoke that will benefit well from some period of time at rest. I am going to do just that with the rest of these, and will look forward to the results around Christmas

Never heard of these. How much do they run? Sounds interesting.

They go for 29 and change at CI for a 10 pack. I got mine at bid from the devil site for 9 bucks for a fiver. When they first came out they were a lot more expensive than that.
