Victor Sinclair Primeros Review

This Victor Sinclair Primeros was included in a 20 cigar Victor Sinclair Sampler and was the first one I pulled out of the box. It's a Toro (6 X 50).
Well constructed with a light brown shade grown Connecticut wrapper.
Even burn with a grey ash. Held 1 1/2" ash. I accidentaly knocked it off.
Easy draw.
Very mild wonderfully creamy taste with a long satisfying finish. To my inexperienced pallete it did not appear to be very complex.
A most satisfying 50 minute smoke.
I usually find a medium-heavy bodied smoke to be the more satisfying, but this cigar proved to be a very tasty exception. For the heavily experienced cigar smoker this cigar may prove to be too mild. However for me, I'm going to start taking an additional look at the mild blends.
At $65 for a box of 20 there will definately be a place in my humidor for these cigars.

Bruce -- Nice review!!! Straight and spot-on!

I keep a healthy supply of various VS maduro makes & models on hand, including Vintage Selects, Serie 55s and Bohemians. No, they're not "complex" in flavor. But I can assure you that they age extremely well, and will reward you for your patience!!

Great review Bruce. IMo milder cigars have their rightful place in any one's rotation, even if they aren't smoked daily, they are nice for an every now and then smoke. Good news is, when they aren't being smoked, they are resting nicely

Re: Victor Sinclair Primeros

Sorry, Bruce. I can't go there with you. Not this time. Here's my review:

Victor Sinclair Primeros
Size: 6.5 x 52
Tobacco: Grade 1 Connecticut shade wrapper; Filler: Dominican Seco
Price: $2.50

This cigar is all tease, with no payoff. It starts with a complex savory pre-light aroma, like you find when you enter a good cigar and pipe shop, where all smells of many different kind of tobaccos mingle together. It has a pleasing golden brown appearance, although I have noticed on at least one stick splotches of green which indicate the wrapper has not been dried properly. Usually the first few puffs on the cigar reward me with a mild, nuanced flavor.

And, then, poof, it's gone... and all I'm left with is a stick of tobacco that tastes as bland as scented paper, just nice-smelling air. I've tried them with whisky, with rum, and with red wine. Nothing brings out any flavor. It's not just that they're mild, because I like CAO Golds and Padilla Cedros and Macanudo Crystal Cafes-- but the Primeros are just a waste of time.
