Dynamite Toro Maduro Review

Executive Summary: Good cigar; give this a 7.25. Very powerfull with some complexity. So strong this approached harsh. Would buy again by the single and would let sit in the humi for a year or more to let it settle down.

Construction: Good
Wrapper: nice

Light: good, even

Super powerfull cigar. On the box at the B&M it said this was for serious smokers only. They aren't kidding. This gave me quite a kick to the family gems.

At first this was very spicy and left a nice aftertaste of chocolately. Along the first third I tasted leather, grassy and cinnamin hints. I had to start pacing this a lot more because it was really kicking my ass. Enjoyed this with a Point Vanilla Cream Soda down until I hit the final third when it started to go more towards an unsweetened dark chocolate taste with the entrance of unwanted tar. I put this to rest at that point.

Nice review, I just added one to the list. Will see if it leaves me on the floor or not... may have to eat a BK triple prior!

Re: Dynamite Toro Maduro

Smoke magazine did a review of these- it got very good ratings. Then I saw the ad for them on the next page so I figured it was worthless junk that they were payed to review well. Glad to find out that that may not be the case. They just look so ugly.

Re: Dynamite Toro Maduro

Thanks for the review. I've wondered about these every time I've seen them at the B&M, but I've never pulled the trigger. They just looked so nasty, and I hadn't heard about them. I may have to run by and pick one up, though. The price sure is right.

Tristan:
A good review, and unlike the others, I have never heard of them. I will look more closely for them.

Re: Dynamite Toro Maduro

Thanks for the review. On a whim I picked up a couple of these about a month ago. I gifted one away and I'm letting the other rest in my humi for that special occasion. Thanks to you letting it sit a while might tame it enough for a really enjoyable smoke.

The marketing stuff says they compare. The only category they are similar in is that they are both strong and have a darker flavor.

I would say the Dynamite tasted a lot stronger to me in that it was not creamy and refined and was bordering on harsh at times. This might also be because my palatte is that of a noob. I've only been smoking for 5 short years

If you want a smoother cigar then the edge would be a better choice. If you want no holds barred the Dynamite will be worth a shot IMHO.

Excellent review, might not be ready for something that stong, but sounds like it belongs on the list to try in the future.

I have been smoking cigars for a lot less than 5 yrs and I smoked a Padilla Miami 8/11 3 months ago recommended to me by a guy at my B&M. It was a corona and it damned neasr burned my mouth off I eventually got it under control but, I knew I was in for a fight. It was tasty and balanced and complex and all that good stuff but, it was one strong SOB. I read up over at Smoke mag about these dynamites and the write up is forbidding It might be pretty good.
